Spring Antique Shows 2025 Are The Cats’ Meow

Despite the persistent wind last week, the cats at Warrenton appeared serene, awaiting buyers to jumpstart the next chapter in their lives. Demitra Hodge from Dallas (right) could envision the big, lean fiberglass guy in her Chicken Ranch booth serving once again as the base for a glass-topped coffee table. (Below left to right) Terry Hares of Auburn, N.Y., offered hand-painted wooden black cats with endearing take-mehome expressions. The Quilt Lady’s mission of creatively repurposing and upcycling grandma’s old quilts and retro clothing into whimsical, oneof- a-kind wearable pieces of art also featured a cat. At Installation Antiques from New Ulm, Texas, Becki van der Oord and her husband, Jur, who are in their 32nd year as spring and fall Warrenton vendors, displayed a kitty constructed of cream-colored soft cloth and a 1930s vintage made-in-Japan resin cat. Over at Radish Row, Dora Chunn, who lives at Fayetteville, described herself as a lover of junk with character. These days, she is keeping company with a prim but charming ceramic cat. Yes, the fields of Warrenton are the place to find cats of all kinds, no litter boxes necessary.
