In this monthly series, local realtor Andrea Schutter Riebeling does a Q & A with local business people about what inspires them. This month’s interview is with Morgan Zator, part of the duo behind Fayetteville’s “Sown With Seed.”
1.) What is your business?
“Sown With Seed” located at 128 N Live Oak on the Square of Fayetteville.
2.) How did you get started?
My husband Todd Campbell and I are both longtime artists and are both interested in healing and living healthy lives. This project is one of love, grit and sweat, as well as a leap of faith. We have been craving an exit from the city and all that life brings for years and are ready to live our lives intentionally focused on what we love and sharing it with this brilliant community that we have grown to love so very much.
3.) How long have you been in business?
We are opening officially in late January but will be open December 14 for the Fayetteville Christmas Celebrations. However, I have been offering soundbaths once a month that I share on our Instagram @sownwithseed and Roundtop Locals FB Page for the past two years to build with and share community.
We are now members of the Round Top Chamber and will be sharing dates and schedules there as well.
4.) Is this a family or one person business? Family 5.) What kind of service do you provide?
We currently offer sound healing, herbal classes, tea times and apothecary such as Anima Mundi and Texas local herbalist, custom artworks, furniture and lighting by Todd Campbell Studio, Luxury Linens Sdh, Legna, and Hale Mercantile, and our favorite things from other artists we love! In the very near future we will also be offering wellness and healing water share as we are currently expanding.
This next phase will include a sunlighted infrared sauna, ice plunge, the HOCATT, and herbal baths to name a few. We will be focused on offering our community opportunities to connect and work with different healers and modalities every so often as we partner with specialists from other places as well.
6.) Tell me something unique about your business?
Sown with Seed is a culmination of years of experience and from working with some of the best of the best. We are letting God lead this Journey and showing up with willing hearts and hands to witness and participate in its unfolding. We believe there is a desire and need for healing and connection in the world at this present time. We also believe in quality over quantity, so our intention is to share what we ourselves enjoy and have found success from. Life is a journey and we all have a path, we are leaning into the gifts that God has given us in order to serve our community and connect with people on a soul level.
7.) What is your background?
Morgan Zator continues to evolve as an artist and healer. She’s known for her expertise in cultivating and creating experiential artistry that evokes an inspiring and elevated sense of emotion, connection, and curiosity. She thrives on the hope that by healing oneself we heal the world. She has spent her life learning from the natural and spiritual world that surrounds us. Harnessing those teachings she infuses spaces and experiences with beauty and energy for friends and clients alike via design, sound, and artistic applications. She has spent years in floral design, as an artist, interior design both residential and commercial, and learning from the best of the best.
Todd Campbell is a sought after artistic metalsmith with more than 25 years of experience. He explores the vast opportunities of forging ahead through playful and artistic journeys with various metals. His scope of work includes a history of working with the top designers, architects, and builders that texas has to offer. His scupltural adventures are inspired by natural forms, organic growth, and the magic that surrounds us. He continues to evolve through spiritual growth and artistic flow creating multi-faceted and unique sculpture, furniture, and architectural detail.
8.) What do you suggest to others who want to venture out and take a leap of action in the future of their career?
I suggest really leaning into your gifts and passions. We both spent alot time doing the hard heartwork of healing and growing, there is always more to do for all of us, but I believe that it is essential for being able to take a leap of faith so boldly. Our motto and statement for this project is “Dig Deep Reach Gold” and I think that is the essence of any big step in life. So much so I made hats that say it, so on the really challenging days I look in the mirror and remember.
Other than that for us it is really about building that relationship with God and trusting in his will for us, in hopes that we are hearing clearing and taking the action steps with willing hearts and dedication.
9.) Do you believe in college, trade school, or any training?
I believe they all have benefits as long as you know what you’re going for. My amazing daughter is currently studying business at University, Todd studied Art at University and both studied at and taught his skills at a trade school for some time. He’s a huge advocate for trade school and the applicable skills they teach. I on the other hand have taken the road less traveled and chose to work with mentors, i have truly been blessed with the most amazing mentors- Cori, Keith, and Selena will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ve taken jobs with a willing heart and hard work ethic, and worked my way up learning from experience, as well as taking certification training and special classes. I’ve never been a fan of the saying “Fake it till you make it.” I personally believe integrity matters and we all start from zero or just a spark of inspiration, but putting in the work matters.
10.) How did you decide to make Fayetteville your home?
Honestly, God led us here. We’d had this vision for the last decade and Colorado was on my heart. However, when it finally came time to pull some triggers and put vision to action, our clients all told us not to take our money out of Texas. Also, I’m Texan through and through so it was hard to actually picture leaving completely. My mom had just relocated to Fayetteville about six months prior and I just loved the energy I felt here as well as this brick and mortar Sown with Seed is located in. So my husband and I decided to look at some properties and the shop and loved it so much we purchased that day. This was a big time for my husband who takes his time on decisions. On the day of closing our amazing realtor reached out and said, “Morgan, I have chills, your property is right on the line of Colorado County!” We both laughed and agreed that God’s plans for us are often delivered in unexpected ways and with a sense of humor. So we do not have the mountains of Colorado State but we are beyond Blessed with the big Texas hearts of this community and forever thankful.
