The Schulenburg High School Class of 1976 gathered for a 50-year reunion on June 5th at the Swiss Alp Farm Bureau hall with 24 members in attendance along with some spouses.

In addition to the golden reunion, Father Eddie Winkler’s 40-year anniversary of being ordained a priest was also celebrated. A delicious meal catered by Koopmann’s Catering was enjoyed, along with some scrumptious desserts classmates brought (and a keg of good old Shiner Premium).

The class pitched in and made a donation to the Shorthorns Forever Association.

A couple of school songs and cheers were sung and members shared updates on their lives like where they live, family information – number of kids, grandkids, etc..

The class is looking forward to continuing its reunion year celebration at the Schulenburg Festival on Saturday, Aug. 1 along with a parade entry on Sunday, Aug. 2.
