Shooting in Schulenburg

Schulenburg Police responded to a reported shooting early Sunday morning on St. John Rd. Police Chief Troy Brenek said there were no reported injuries.

Brenek said his officers recieved a call around 3:05 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, reporting gunshots in the 200 block of St. John Rd. Brenek said no one at the scene “had information or would talk.” He said a vehicle at the scene was struck by a bullet.

Officers found a firearm south of the location, Brenek said. Officers searched the serial number and discovered it had been reported stolen in Fayette County in October 2025. Police are working to return the firearm to the owner, Brenek said.
