Sheriff’s Department Makes Weekend Arrests

On Friday May 20, at 5:58 p.m., Deputy Orlando Buitron responded to a residence near Ellinger in reference to a domestic disturbance. After further investigation, Christine Romero, 41, of Corpus Christi, Texas was arrested and charged with Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family/Household.

On Saturday May 21, at approximately 12:29 a.m., Sgt. Ryan Meagher conducted a traffic stop on a white Volkswagen sedan on IH-10 EB mile marker 665 for a traffic violation. The front seat passenger was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and showed to have an active felony warrant out of Lubbock for Assault Family/Household Impeding Breath/ Circulation. The passenger identified as Alexander Cantu, 29, of Harlingen was arrested for possession of controlled substance as well as the warrant.

At approximately 6:21 p.m., Deputy Jared Michalec conducted a traffic stop on a red Buick sedan on Von Minden near the 71 Westbound Frontage Rd. After further investigation, the passenger of the vehicle was found to have two felony warrants out of Colorado County for Failure to Identify Fugitive from Justice and Forgery of a Government Instrument. The passenger identified as Debbie Marx, 52 of Weimar, was arrested on both warrants.

At 10:18 p.m., Deputy Michalec observed a male subject at the Bar-G convenience store in La Grange. Michalec recognized the male from previous encounters and knew him to possess a felony warrant out of Fayette County for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Michalec made contact with the subject identified as Benito Campos, 44, of La Grange. Benito was arrested without incident.

At 10:24 p.m., Sgt. Meagher conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Silverado for a traffic violation on SH71 East near Ladybird Loop. After further investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of approximately 18 grams of methamphetamine, ecstasy and adderall along with a loaded .40 Ruger handgun. The driver, identified as Todd Keilers, 26 of Smithville, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (PG-1), Possession of a Controlled Substance (PG-2), and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. Keilers was also wanted out of Fayette County for a felony warrant stemming from an original charge of Insurance Fraud.

On Sunday May 22, at approximately 12:59 a.m., Deputy Michalec conducted a traffic stop on E. Colorado St. near North Vail in La Grange for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle had an active felony warrant out of Fayette County for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle as well as two felony warrants out of Louisiana for Burglary and Theft with full extradition. The driver identified as Brady Norsworthy, 21 of La Grange was arrested without incident.

At approximately 12:07 pm, Deputy Herman Olvera was dispatched to the area of Hwy. 90 near FM 1295 for a suspicious vehicle that had previously been observed driving erratically and had now pulled over. An investigation was conducted and the driver, identified as Nathan Love, 48 of Flatonia, was arrested for Public Intoxication.
