Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of September.

Sgt. Ron Naumann checked on an illegally parked vehicle on Schramm Rd. near FM 153. Body armor was observed in plain view of the vehicle. Contact was made with the owner who was discovered to be a convicted felon, making it illegal to possess body armor. The subject was arrested by Naumann.

Deputy Joe Gonzales took a report of a sexual assault that had occurred two days prior. Gonzales was able to get a warrant for the suspect. The agency in which the suspect resides was notified.

Gonzales took a report of a theft. A report was taken and the case remains under investigation.

Deputy Terry Guentert took a report of property damage which occurred in the Swiss Alp area. After further investigation, charges were filed against the suspect for criminal mischief.

Sgt. Angela Lala took a report of an employee for a business who opened up a fuel card on their account without their knowledge or consent. An investigation was conducted and the case was forwarded to the Fayette County Attorney’s Office for review and to determine if charges will be pursued.

Deputy Wesly Arrison responded to a residence in the Ellinger area in reference to criminal mischief. Arrison obtained a warrant for the suspect. Arrison responded to a report of an active burglary which was occurring in the West Point area. Arrison was able to locate the suspect and after further investigation the suspect was arrested. Arrison was dispatched to the area of 3600 Old Plum Highway in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival Arrison located a vehicle in the road that was broke down. A check of the driver showed them to have an active warrant out of Fayette County. The subject was arrested on the warrant without incident.

Deputy Jason Fowler was dispatched to a residence near La Grange in reference to an assault. Upon arrival the suspect had left but a report was made. After investigation, a report was filed with the Fayette County Attorney’s Office and assault charges are pending. Fowler was dispatched to a residence near Flatonia, in reference to a disturbance. It was determined no assault occurred and parties involved were separated. The case was forwarded to investigators in reference to criminal mischief that did occur during the incident.

Deputy Cody Williams was dispatched to a burglary in progress on Anchor Ranch Loop. Williams was able to locate the suspect who was in possession of several items that were taken from a nearby residence. The male subject was confronted by an armed owner and fled the residence. The male was arrested on several charges.

Sgt. Ryan Meagher stopped a vehicle on Bending Road. After further investigation the driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The subject also had an active warrant out of Fayette County. The driver was arrested.

Deputy Chris Stansberry conducted a traffic stop on SH 237 near FM 1291. The operator of a motorcycle was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm. Stansberry took a report of credit card abuse against an elderly victim. The case is still under investigation at this time.

Deputy Duane Meagher was working at a mass gathering event when a subject was located with a firearm inside of the area which is posted no firearms allowed. The subject was found to have an active warrant for Smuggling Persons. The subject was found to be in possession of cocaine. The subject was also discovered to be a convicted felon and is prohibited from possession a handgun. The subject was arrested on numerous charges.

Deputy Ty Roggenkamp conducted a traffic stop near La Grange. After further investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of cocaine. The driver was arrested. Roggenkamp was working security at a mass gathering event in which a security guard detained a subject for a physical altercation. The suspect then head butted the security guard and later kicked Roggenkamp during the arrest. The suspect was arrested on numerous charges.

Jail Administrator Holly Smith reports that Fayette County Correction Officers booked in 66 individuals for the month of September. Smith reports that the Jail Staff transported one individual to Texas Department of Criminal Justice Facilities throughout the State to begin serving their sentences for crimes committed in Fayette County.
