Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of Dec. 2024.

Sgt. Ron Naumann assisted Waller County Investigators with a search warrant within Fayette County. Property believed to be stolen was seized. The case remains under investigation at this time.

Deputy Chris Stansberry responded to an address in the Muldoon area in reference to a death investigation. The death was ruled that of natural causes and no foul play was detected.

Deputy Duane Meagher took a report of a dog bite that occurred near La Grange. A report was completed and the dog was quarantined for 10 days as required by law. Meagher was dispatched to a place of business in the Ellinger area in reference to an employee who was terminated and was refusing to leave the property. The subject was subsequently arrested for Public Intoxication. Meagher responded to a welfare check at a residence in the West Point area. Meagher observed an unresponsive male lying in bed through a window. Meagher made entry into the residence and found the male to be deceased. The death is believed to be that of natural causes.

Deputy Joe Gonzales responded sponded vio- to a report of a violation of a protective order. The suspect was no longer on scene. A report was made and a warrant is being issued for the suspect. Gonzales took a report of a theft in which tools were taken off a work truck. A report was completed and the case remains under investigation. Some items have been located at this time.

Deputy Jason Fowler responded to a physical disturbance in the West Point area. After further investigation, a female subject was arrested for Assault. Fowler also responded to an address outside of La Grange in reference to a possible mental subject. After further investigation the male subject was arrested for Public Intoxication and Criminal Mischief.

Deputy Jared Michalec took a report of forgery. Michalec investigated the case and presented the case to the Fayette County Attorney’s Office where charges were filed. Michalec also responded to a burglary call. A report was completed and the case remains under investigation at this time.

Deputy Wesly Arrison responded to a vehicle fire which occurred in the Ledbetter area. Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department arrived and were able to extinguish the fire. One subject was transported by Fayette County EMS as a result of second degree burns. The fire is believed to be accidental and the case is closed at this time. Arrison responded to a domestic disturbance in the West Point area. One subject was arrested for Assault.

Deputy Mark Pritchard responded to a report of a disturbance between neighbors involving a firearm. After further investigation it was determined no crime had been committed and the parties were separated. Pritchard responded to a place of business in La Grange in reference to an intoxicated male subject. The male was located and was arrested for Public Intoxication.

Deputy Ty Roggenkamp observed an elderly female driving around the Round Top square several times late in the evening. Roggenkamp then observed the female almost strike several parked cars. A welfare check was conducted on the female who believed she was in Galveston. EMS was summoned to the scene and the female was transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The female’s family was contacted and were informed of the situation.

Jail Administrator Holly Smith reports that Fayette County Correction Officers booked in 37 individuals for the month of December. Smith reports that the Jail Staff transported one individual to Texas Department of Criminal Justice Facilities throughout the State to begin serving their sentences for crimes committed in Fayette County.
