Shelter Update

As of April 18, the total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter for 2025 is 444: 235 dogs and 209 cats in need. There are 96 animals in our care: 60 dogs and 36 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to a rescue partner.

The animal shelter offers a discount voucher program to the citizens of Fayette County for the spay or neuter of family pets and a microchip special for Fayette County pets. A microchip increases the chances of being reunited with your pet by 73%. Call (979) 966-0021 for more information.
