The La Grange baseball team had a dominating performance Thursday in their regular season home finale, beating Smithville 5-0 as Ty Stark pitched a no-hitter.

Stark and the six other La Grange seniors (Max Dixon, Kyler Lamza, Hunter Sabo, Bradyn Prasek, Holdyn Cooper and Braxton Dahse) were honored before the game – and their moms threw out the ceremonial first pitches. Then Stark went to work, needing just 83 pitches to no-hit the Tigers, while striking out seven.

Offensively the Leps took advantage of three Smithville errors and also cranked out five hits, including two from Eli Gillum, a double by Oliver Gunn and singles by Hunter Sabo and Dalton Janacek.

Thursday’s victory vaults the Leps into a first place tie in District 22-4A with a 5-4 record. The Leps (11-10 overall) play their regular season game at Smithville Monday at 7 p.m.
