Second Chance Makes More Amazing Community Donations
Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $10,000 to the La Grange High School (LGHS) Band Booster Club. Monies donated will be used to help fund the LGHS Band’s performance at Carnegie Hall in March 2025. The LGHS Band Booster Club organization assists the Director of Bands in the development of excellence in music education, performance skills, and leadership in students by providing financial, logistical and moral support in a balanced fashion. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $1,500 to the Schulenburg American Legion Post #143. Monies donated will be used as part of the Memorial Day flag fund where flags are placed on the graves of veterans in twelve cemeteries in the Schulenburg area. The American Legion Post #143 supports veterans and their families in many ways which includes funeral honors and placing flags on veterans graves. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $8,500 to the Winchester Area Civic Association. Monies donated will be used to fund historic preservation and exterior painting of Zilss Hall for its 75-year celebration in 2025. The mission of the Association is to improve the quality of life for all citizens in the area; to promote a clean environment; to preserve the historical significance of the Winchester area; to promote the economic well-being of all citizens; to stand ready to provide services to its membership; and to maintain and assume responsibility for the rental of Zilss Hall. Monies donated will provide backpacks, prefilled with school supplies, for students in need to be successful in the classroom. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $3,500 to the La Grange ISD (LGISD) 18+ Program. This program provides post-secondary education for eligible students receiving special education services until age 21. Monies donated will contribute to the sustainability of a workbased learning program which focuses on four domains of learning: adult living, lifelong learning, employability, and social recreation and leisure.
