Second Chance Donates to Local Non-Profit Organizations

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $15,000 to the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC). Monies donated will be used to fund various operational costs for the La Grange satellite office. The Center exists to provide a coordinated, family-focused approach to the crisis of child abuse in our Fayette County community. They strive to reduce trauma, seek justice, foster healing and cultivate empowerment for children and families. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $30,000 to the Round Top-Carmine (RT-C) Education Foundation. Monies donated will be used to purchase thirty Chromebooks, three Promethean boards, six teacher laptops, curriculum testing (TEKS tracking) software, web safety filters, English testing curriculum and ten TI graphing calculators. The Educational Foundation provides funding for enrichment programs such as fine arts, technology and band, as well as funding for innovative teaching grants. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $5,000 to the Flatonia Rail Museum. Monies donated will be used to assist with expenses incurred to keep the museum operational. The Flatonia Rail Museum houses many historical artifacts, model train displays (including a Southern Pacific caboose and a switching tower), and photographs. The museum is dedicated to preserving and educating Flatonia’s rich railroad history. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $15,000 to the Fayette County Jr. Livestock Show. Monies donated will be used to improve stock pens for various species of animals. The Fayette County Jr. Livestock Show provides a stockshow for 4-H and FFA members to exhibit their educational projects and sell to the general public to raise funds to further their education after high school. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $15,000 to the James Dick Foundation for the Performing Arts (Round Top Festival Institute). Monies donated will be used to fund the Educational Ensemble Center at Round Top Festival Institute. The mission of Round Top Festival Institute is to educate and train young musicians; to commission and present new musical compositions, operas, dramas and ballet for the public; and to collect rare books, historic manuscripts, and archival materials for scholarly research and educational purposes. Monies donated will be used to plant ten replacement trees, to increase the number of raised beds for the community garden spring planting, and to have irrigation and soil additions for the raised beds. The park provides a pollinator hub for migrating birds and butterflies, a community gardening opportunity and an outdoor experience that the citizens of Fayetteville can enjoy together. Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $35,000 to the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter (GJAS). Monies donated will be used to fully upgrade the canine kennels with new flooring, new paint for the walls and ceiling, and new heaters. The mission of the GJAS is to maintain and operate a humane animal care facility to provide temporary care to homeless, unwanted or displaced animals in Fayette County.
