Second Annual Habitat Skydiving This Weekend

Last year’s event.

Over the weekend, Fayette County Habitat for Humanity (FCHFH) received a little Easter miracle just in time for their 2nd Annual Skydiving Event, which will be held this Sunday, April 24 at Texas Skydiving in Lexington.

“We were contacted again by an anonymous donor who wants to cover the costs of our skydive fundraiser,” said Executive Director Kenny Couch.

“This means 100% of what the jumpers are collecting will be going towards direct costs of our Camp St. Cottages project and so far $14,767 has been raised.”

There is still time if you would like to donate to a brave family or friend who is jumping. Here is the link: www.fayettecountyhabitat.org/skydive2022. And to learn more about the Camp St. Cottages project you can visit www.fayettecountyhabitat.org/camp-st-cottages.

Below is the jump schedule for Sunday if you would like to come out and watch and support a particular jumper. Please note that jump times are not approximate and may change due to weather.

Along with the skydiving event this weekend FCHFH has new and exciting things in the works to be announced soon. New President Mel Burgess, who took over for long-time board member and president Patrick Caballero after his move to Burton, said, ”I’m excited to continue working with Habitat in providing housing to those in Fayette County who might not qualify for a traditional home loan. Habitat has made a strong presence in Fayette County and the entire team of volunteers looks forward to continuing this legacy.”

Also, newly elected Vice President Kyle Hartmann added, “I am honored to serve as vice president of Habitat. I am excited to see Fayette County Habitat for Humanity continue to grow along with the positive impact it provides in our community. We will soon announce new builds, fundraisers, and service opportunities and welcome any volunteers to support us in our new efforts.”
