Schulenburg Police Report

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of April 26-May 2.

Animal Complaint

On April 27, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden received a call from property owner in the 1000 block of Baumgarten requesting help with two momma cats and 9 total kittens. Harden transported all to the animal shelter.

On April 29, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 1500 block of Kessler for a loose black calf. Owners had calf back in pen and repairing fence.

Criminal Trespass

On April 26, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 1500 block of Kellett for criminal trespass they wanted filed.

On April 30, Ellis was dispatched to the Texan in the 25 block of N Kessler where a person had been staying inside the Texan for several days. Manager no longer wanted the person on the property. Officer gave the individual a ride to Loves in Weimar for a bus ticket.

Civil Matter

On May 1, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the 1300 block of Summit for a civil matter.

On May 2, Whited responded to the 1300 block of Summit for a civil matter.

Citizen Assist

On April 26, Officer Reyden Svatek responded to the 600 block of Bohlmann for a broken-down vehicle in the roadway.

DWI

OnApril 26, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding. Driver was arrested for DWI second.

Fire

On April 30, Svatek was dispatched to the 600 block of W. I-10 for a fire in the ditch.

Traffic Stop

On April 30, Ellis received a notice of a possibly drunk male subject leaving the Texan. Officer initiated a traffic stop on the individual for driving without lights when required. Subject showed no signs of intoxication. Citation issued for no driver’s license.

Miscellaneous

On May 1, Castilleja was contacted by Chief Brenek in reference to a female individual inside of Schulenburg Printing yelling at employees. Officer spoke with the printing staff, and they advised she was upset that the employee she spoke with earlier in the day was not there.
