Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 22-28.

Animal Complaint

On June 23, Code Enforcement Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 600 block of Upton regarding a kitten that may need medical attention.

On June 23, Harden responded to the 800 block of Simpson to check on animals that may have been left as owners were moving.

On June 24, Harden responded to the 1100 block of James Avenue for a possible dead horse. The horse was up and walking around when Harden arrive.

On June 25, Officer Reyden Svatek was advised of an injured buzzard in the 700 block of Baumgarten that was unable to fly away. Harden was able to capture the buzzard and able to release in a safe location.

Accident

On June 28, Officer Jeffrey Whited responded to the 100 block of Hummingbird Avenue for a minor collision.

Citizen Assist

On June 22, Svatek helped a citizen in the 2200 block of Summit for a truck that had broken down in the intersection, Svatek helped get the vehicle off the roadway.

On June 27, Whited observed an elderly male subject fall in the 500 block of N. Main, Whited checked on the man and he advised he was fine and refused medical attention. Criminal Trespass

On June 25, Svatek was dispatched to the 1100 block of August for criminal trespass.

On June 25, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 200 block of Matula for criminal trespass.

Reckless Driver

On June 23, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was advised of a reckless driver in the 100 block of Simpson.

On June 25, Svatek was informed of a maroon truck driving 50 mph down Russek. Officer could not locate the truck.

Traffic Stop

On June 22, Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for running a red light.

On June 22, Vincent stopped a driver in the 400 block of Kessler for defective head lamp. A citation was issued for no driver’s license.

On June 22, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver in the 600 block of Kessler for driving without lights on when required.Awarning was issued.

On June 23, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of Kessler for expired registration (4-25) Driver received a warning.

On June 24, Powe stopped a driver in the 1000 block of S. Upton for failure to signal required distance before turning. Driver received a warning, On June 27, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for failure to signal lane change. Driver received a warning.

On June 27, Powe stopped a driver in the 400 block of Summit for running a red light. Driver received a citation.

Theft

On June 23, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 100 block of college for a report of a stolen license plate.

Welfare Check

On June 23, McFadden was dispatched to the 500 block of West Avenue for a patient requesting to talk to the police. Resident wants to report a theft ring at the nursing home.
