Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 15-20.
Assault
On June 16, Officer Jeffrey Whited was dispatched to the 500 block of West Avenue to Paradigm of the Oaks Facility regarding an assault that took place between two elderly residents. One resident was transported to the Lavaca Medical Center.
Animal Complaint
On June 16, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 700 block of South Street regarding neighbors’ dogs being aggressive.
On June 16, Code Enforcement Officer Gina Harden while setting traps in the 700 block of Baumgarten sighted a black headed vulture coming from under an abandoned house. The vulture had a broken wing.
Disturbance
On June 16, Whited was dispatched to the 1500 block of Kellett regarding a possible disturbance.
On June 19, Whited was dispatched to the 200 block of Saint John Road for a disturbance involving a gun. Officer upon arrival observed multiple people arguing and were separated. A gun was not located, and no one heard or saw anything. A pellet gun was found by a tree and taken for safekeeping.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On June 17, Officer Reyden Svatek responded to the 40 block of East Avenue for a suspicious vehicle.
On June 19, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 14 block of N. Kessler for a white male outside of Hitching Post that appeared out of it. Male advised he was walking to Baton Rouge and needed help getting there.
