Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 8-14.

Animal complaint

On June 10, Officer Byron Powe was dispatched to the 1000 block of Baumgarten regarding a neighbor’s dog chasing his cats and eating their food. The officer arrived and observed the dog and officer made multiple attempts to catch it. The dog appeared aggressive towards people and animals. Information passed to animal control.

Accident

On June 9, Powe was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at US Hwy. 77 and Hwy. 90. Driver received a citation for running a red light causing the crash.

On June 13, Officer Jeffrey Whited responded to a collision with injuries in the 500 block of St. John Road. The other party involved fled the scene and the victim was transported to the hospital. Officers were able to identify the other party who fled and have not found him.

On June 14, Whited responded to a collision on I-10 at Bryant Road involving a rolled over vehicle with a female standing by it. The female refused medical treatment or transport; a tow truck was called.

Civil Matter

On June 13, Whited took a report in the 600 block of Upton regarding a custody issue.

Father advised that the mother is refusing to meet with the children at the custody exchange times.

Disturbance

On June 8, Officer Juan Castilleja assisted Deputy Williams and Deputy Mosqueda in the 1500 block of Oakland Road for a disturbance.

On June 8, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 800 block of Wolf Street for a disturbance.

On June 14, Whited was dispatched to the 1400 block of Kessler for a disturbance involving subjects that were fighting.

On June 14, Powe responded to the 200 block of Heinrich for a subject yelling in the lobby.

Harassment

On June 10, Powe received information from caller regarding harassment by her brother’s girlfriend. Caller was advised to block the subject.

On June 10, Powe received information from caller that advised her husband had an affair and ended it but the other female will not stop contacting either of them.

Possession

On June 13, Powe observed multiple illegal items for sale at a convenience store in the 300 block of Kessler. Items were seized for testing and charges are pending.

Reckless Driver

On June 9, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 300 block of Kessler regarding a silver Ford F-150 hauling a kayak driving reckless. Officer was unable to locate.

Traffic Stop

On June 9, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in the 100 block of N Kessler going 53 in a 35. Driver received a warning for expired driver’s license and a citation for speeding and no insurance.

On June 10, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 Block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.

On June 10, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for expired registration (1-25) Driver received a citation for expired registration and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Welfare Check

On June 10, Whited responded to the 300 block of N. Doak for a welfare check.

On June 11, Whited was dispatched to the 200 block of W. I-10 frontage for a welfare concern.

Miscellaneous

On June 9, Sgt. Tobey McFadden traveled to the 500 block of West Avenue to register sex offenders.
