Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of March 23-29.
Assault
On March 23, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 800 block of Wolf Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival complainant reported her daughter had been assaulted.
Agency Assist
On March 23, Officer Reyden Svatek was dispatched to the 600 block. of I-10 for a disabled vehicle on the side of the road. Officer helped deputy with traffic control.
On March 24, Svatek was dispatched to the 300 block of South Street for a verbal disturbance and assisted Flatonia officer and a criminal trespass warning was issued which individual refused to sign.
Accident
On March 29, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 50. Block of N. Kessler for a hit and run in the parking lot. Officer Vincent was able to locate the person on the vehicle that left the scene by an individual that took a photo. Both parties shared insurance information.
Civil Matter
On March 27, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 1500 block of Kellett for a civil matter. Parties were separated.
On March 29, Vincent responded to the 40 block of N. Kessler for a child custody exchange. Criminal Mischief
On March 26, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 500 block of College regarding criminal mischief involving Jr. high kids shoving each other onto vehicles that are parked at the old playground.
Citizen Assist
On March 26, Powe was dispatched to the 800 block of Kessler for a report of a busted pipe shooting water. Officer contacted the maintenance worker.
Disturbance
On March 26, Officer Jeffrey Whited was dispatched to a vehicle in front of the police station where a verbal argument was going on. Parties were separated.
On March 27, Whited was dispatched to the 1000 block of August for a disturbance.
On March 27, Whited was dispatched to the 1300 block of Summit for a subject that would not leave after being told to by complainant. Officer issued a criminal trespass warning to the individual.
Fight
On March 25, Krenek was dispatched to the 500 block of College regarding a possible fight that may occur after dismissal. Nothing happened and nothing further.
Suspicious Person
On March 27, Whited was dispatched to the 25 block of N. Kessler for a female subject that would not leave. Officer contacted the female who stated she was riding across America on her bike and was stopping due to the rain. Officer advised the store. Management does not want her there. Female left headed towards Weimar.
Kidnapping
On March 27, Whited was dispatched to the Texan in the 25 block of N. Kessler regarding a possible claim of kidnapping. Traffic Stop
On March 24, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver in the 800 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone, a citation was issued.
On March 24, Castilleja stopped a driver for speeding in the 1200 block of Kessler. A citation was issued.
On March 25, Vincent stopped a driver for speeding in the 100 block of Kessler in a school zone going 42 in a 25. A citation was issued.
On March 27, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 93 in a 75.
On March 27, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. 1-10 for speeding going 101 in a 75. Driver received a citation. On March 27, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 94 in a 75. Driver received a citation.
On March 28, Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued.
On March 28, Vincent observed a car driving in the 800 block of Herder with a small child standing up on the back seat of the vehicle looking out the window that was rolled down. Citation was issued for failure to secure child in a safety seat.
On March 28, Vincent stopped a driver in the 200 block of Heinrich for no seat belt. Driver issued a warning for no seat belt and address change.
On March 29, Vincent stopped a driver in the 600 block of Wolters for disregarding a red light. A warning was issued.
