Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Sept. 22-28.
Animal Complaint
On Sept. 24, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden received a call regarding a loose dog running in the 1000 block of Black. Officer spoke with the owner of the dog and advised she did not want her anymore. The dog has now been surrendered to the city of Schulenburg.
On Sept. 26, Harden checked on a horse in the 900 block of Baumgarten to make sure it had water and food. Food and water were both fine and the horse should be gone by Saturday On Sept. 28.
On Sept. 27, Harden received a call from Officer Byron Powe about a loose dog in the 100 block of HummingbirdAvenue that was running through yards and agitating other dogs that are leashed and are in a fenced in area. Harden located the dogs owner and advised of the city leash ordinance.
On Sept. 27, Harden while driving down the 100 block of Schultz three small wirehaired terriers were in the middle of the road. Officer knocked on the door the dogs started going to. The woman at the home advised they were her dogs. One of the dogs needed to be groomed since it was all matted up and dirty. Officer will follow up.
Accident
On Sept. 22, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 14 block of N. Kessler for a two vehicle accident.
Criminal Mischief
On Sept. 22, Powe responded to the 300 block of Schwartz for criminal mischief.
Civil Matter
On Sept. 27, Harden received a call regarding a flower shelf on a neighbor’s fence. Neighbor had nailed the shelf to his new privacy fence and was upset about the damage to the boards and the invasion of privacy. The shelf was hanging over his property. Harden spoke to the other party, and she agreed to remove the shelf.
Disturbance
On Sept. 26, Officer Jesus Alvarez responded to a suicidal minor in the 400 block of Paulus and transported to behavioral hospital.
Fire
On Sept. 22, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the 300 block of August for a smoke and burning smell in laundromat. There was no fire they believe it may have been caused by a washer burning out.
Nuisance
On Sept. 25, Harden re-ceived information from complainant regarding obnoxious odor coming from the 200 block of Kallus. Harden spoke with the owner about the cow heads and that he will be given a time frame to remove from the property or a nuisance citation will be issued.
Public Intoxication
On Sept. 28, Officer Reyden Svatek responded to the 400 block of Anderson for public intoxication.
Suspicious Person/ Vehicle
On Sept. 26, Whited while on patrol noticed a truck with lights on in the parking lot across from Anytime Fitness with a male subject inside sleeping. Subject identified and was waiting for business to open.
Traffic Stop
On Sept. 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 40 block of N. Kessler for operating an unregistered motor vehicle (823) Driver received a warning.
On Sept. 22, Powe stopped a driver for expired registration (6-24) in the 500 block of Kessler. Driver received a warning.

On Sept. 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for expired registration (624) Driver received a warning.
On Sept. 23, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.
On Sept. 23, Officer MD Krenek stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued.
On Sept. 23, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 80 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Driver issued a citation.
On Sept. 24, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. Driver issued a warning.
On Sept. 24, Krenek stopped a driver in the 500 block of College for speeding in a school zone. Driver issued a citation.
On Sept. 25, Alvarez stopped a driver in the 1000 block of Kallus for speeding in a school zone. Driver issued a citation.
On Sept. 25, Alvarez stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Driver issued a citation.

On Sept. 26, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for speeding going 45 in a 35. Driver received a warning.
On Sept. 26, Powe stopped a driver in the 1000 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Driver received a citation.
On Sept. 26, Alvarez stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for disregarding a red light in a school zone. Citation was issued.
On Sept. 26, Krenek stopped a driver in the 400 block of Bucek for using a wireless device in a school zone. Driver issued a citation for using a cell phone in a school zone and no insurance.

On Sept. 27, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Citation was issued.

Welfare Check
On Sept. 22, Powe responded to the 600 block of W. I-10 for a male in dark clothing in the median and seemed to be in distress. Officer located the subject, and they were not in distress and was trying to put his backpack on to start walking. Fayette County Deputy provided him with a courtesy ride to Waelder.
