Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Sept. 15-19.
Assault
On Sept. 16, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 200 block of St. John Rd. for an assault.
On Sept. 18, Officer Reyden Svatek spoke with individual at the police station regarding an assault.
Criminal Trespass
On Sept. 16, Powe responded to the 600 block of Black Street where subject requested a criminal trespass warning against her ex-boyfriend who doesn’t live there but continues to show up.
Disturbance
On Sept. 18, Svatek was dispatched to the 1100 block of James Avenue regarding a verbal dispute between a father and son.
Traffic Stop
On Sept. 15, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver in the 500 block of Anderson for disregarding a stop sign. A warning was issued.
On Sept. 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 800 block of College for a defective stop lamp. A warning was issued.
On Sept. 16, Officer Jesus Alvarez stopped a driver for speeding in the 100 block of N. Kessler. A warning was is- sued.
On Sept. 16, Alvarez stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.
On Sept. 16, Alvarez stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone and a warning was issued for speeding and a citation issued for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
On Sept. 18, Svatek stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.
On Sept. 18, Svatek stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Driver issued a citation.
On Sept. 18, Svatek stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation issued.
On Sept. 19, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.
On Sept. 19, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 80 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. The driver was identified, and he does not have a driver’s license. Officer informed him he needed to call his father and have him come to the location. He was advised he needed another person with a driver’s license to take him home. Two citations were issued one for speeding in a school zone and one for no driver’s license.
Welfare Check
On Sept. 17, Alvarez responded to the 600 block of Upton for a welfare check on his wife because he had been calling her for weeks and had no answer. After calling the wife, officer was informed that she was well and safe and advised the reason she doesn’t answer the calls is because she left him.
Miscellaneous
On Sept. 15, Castilleja was dispatched to the 300 block of Summit in reference to the occupant wanting to speak with an officer. Upon arrival an elderly female stated she saw on the news that Kamala Harris was going to war with Russia and China. Officer asked if that was why she had called the 911 emergency line. She advised it was.
