Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 23-29.

Animal Complaint

On June 26, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 100 block of Hummingbird regarding individual that is going to surrender their dog.

Accident

On June 26, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 11 block of N. Kessler for a two vehicle accident and one of the vehicles had left the scene. Without a Manager being present at the Texan, officer was unable to look at security footage to get a description of the 18 wheeler.

Civil Matter

On June 28, Office MD Krenek was dispatched to the 700 block of Simpson for a civil stand by.

On June 28, Krenek was dispatched to the 400 block of Bohlmann regarding court ordered summer visit of complainant’s daughter. Officer advised individual to contact his attorney and file a contempt of court.

On June 29, Krenek was dispatched to the 500 block of Paulus for a civil standby. I was told by individuals on scene they wanted to get the few belongings of their brothers but feared the residents.

Disturbance

On June 27, Castilleja was dispatched to the 1200 block of August Street in reference to a disturbance between a mother and daughter. Dispatch stated the daughter attempted to exit the vehicle while it was moving. Father arrived at the scene and took his daughter home.

On June 28, Sgt. Tobey McFadden responded to the 600 block of Wolters for a verbal disturbance between a husband and wife. Husband left the residence with his sister.

On June 28, Castilleja was dispatched to the 800 block of Hwy. 77 in reference to a disturbance.

On June 29, Krenek was dispatched to the 900 block of Lyons regarding a child custody dispute. Children’s mother and father were arguing, and mother demanded to take the children. No custody papers in place. Both parties got physical, and Sgt. McFadden arrived and after some time the children left with their mother.

Fight in Progress

On June 24, Krenek was dispatched to the 500 block of Shorthorn Drive regarding a fight in progress between two high school basketball teams. Upon arrival the fight had been separated and resolved. Officer learned the boys were playing and the game was a blow out and one of the kids threw the basketball at another kid causing them to fight. All parties separated and no one stayed around to file charges.

Harassment

On June 25, Krenek was dispatched to the 100 block of College to meet with complainant regarding a vehicle parked across the street from where she works. Complainant has a protective order in place, and he continues to call and follow her around.

Junk Vehicle

On June 25, Harden spoke with an individual about a vehicle parked in Blinn College parking lot and it will have to be moved.

Traffic Stop

On June 23, Officer Hailee Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of E. Summit or driving without lights when required. A citation was issued for failure to secure child in a safety seat and driving while license invalid.

On June 24, Krenek stopped a driver at James and Summit for disregarding a stop sign. The driver was given a verbal warning due to officers’ laptop being updated.

OnJune25,Krenekstopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for speeding. Driver was issued a warning.

On June 25, Krenek stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of S. Kessler for speeding and failure to display a drivers license on demand. Driver issued a warning.

On June 25, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver for speeding going 88 in a 75 in the 600 block of W. I-10. Driver received a warning.

On June 25, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-I0 for speeding going 89 in a 75. Driver received a warning.

On June 28, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 85 in a 75. Driver received a warning for speeding and citations for no driver’s license and no insurance.

On June 28, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for turning when unsafe. Driver received a citation.

On June 28, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for failure to display license plate. Driver received a warning for failure to display license plate and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

On June 29, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for operating an unregistered vehicle (1-22). Driver was issued a warning.
