Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the first week of May 19-24.
Assault Family Violence On May 21, Sgt. Rusty Roggenkamp responded to the 600 block of Wolf Street.
Accident
On May 19, Officer James Whited while in the 700 block of N. Kessler was notified of a private property collision between two 18 wheelers by the gas pumps. Officer arrived and had two drivers exchange information.
On May 23, Sgt. Tobey McFadden responded to the intersection of Kessler and Summit in regard to a major accident. Officer was waiting to view cameras before completing an accident report due to conflicting stories from both drivers and witnesses.
Animal Complaint
On May 19, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 1200 block of Simpson regarding a black dog that was getting on the property and bothering employees and property. Officer was advised as to where the dog belonged, the officer spoke with the owner, who advised he would get the dog and pen it up.
On May 20, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 1200 block of Kellett regarding a small black and white dog possibly injured or heat exhaustion, on arrival the small terrier was leaning against the curb and the dog did not want to drink water and could not walk right and was acting disorientated. Officer placed the dog in a carrier and then shortly after the owner of the dog drove up.
On May 23, Harden responded to the 65 block of N. Kessler for a cat that was trapped.
Civil Matter
On May 19, Krenek was dispatched to the 1400 block of Oakland Road to public service the phone number listed in the hose. Officer attempted to serve the person at the residence but without contact.
Disturbance
My 22, Krenek along with McFadden were dispatched to the 500 block of Paulus regarding a disturbance.
Suspicious Person
On May 19, Krenek was dispatched to the 800 block of Paulus regarding a black male with no shirt, walking in the area yelling at the top of his lungs. Officer located the male, and he was identified and advised he was yelling at his brother on the phone for leaving him stranded at a party. Officer advised the man to go home, and he advised he was.
Traffic Stop
On May 19, McFadden stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for a defective headlamp. A warning was issued.
On May 19, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 95 in a 75. Driver issued a warning for expired driver’s license and a citation for speeding.
On May 19, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 93 in a 75. Driver issued a citation for speeding and no driver’s license.
On May 19, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding gong 94 in a 75. Driver received a citation for speeding.
On May 19, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for passing certain vehicles (failure to move over or slow down for emergency vehicles) Driver received a citation for passing certain vehicles.
On May 19, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for a speeding violation. Driver issued a warning.
On May 19, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for a defective taillight. Driver received a warning for defective taillight and citations for no driver’s license and no insurance, and unauthorized reproduction, purchase, use or sale of temporary tag.
