Schulenburg Police Report

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 5-11.

Accident On June 9, Officer Jacob

On June 9, Officer Jacob Mills was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a minor accident at the Pilot gas station. Both drivers of the 18-wheelers were OK and minor damage.

Criminal Trespass

On June 7, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 200 block of College in reference to an individual having a criminal trespass warning. Individual left before officers arrival. It was found the individual did not have a criminal trespass warning and officer was unable to locate the individual. Officer advised staff at Arlans not to run people off with a criminal trespass warning, or people they want to issue a warning to. Kalina advised them to always call the police so they can make contact with the individual.

Suspicious Person

On June 8, Officer Mills and Sgt. Tobey McFadden responded to the 600 block of West for two suspicious females.

Traffic Stop

On June 5, Officer Byron Powe stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of W. I-10 for defective headlight and taillight.

On June 5, Powe stopped a vehicle for expired registration in the 14 block of N. Kessler. Driver received citation for driving with license invalid.

On June 5, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Summit for no front license plate. A warning was issued.

On June 5, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of W. I-10 for a defective taillight. Driver received a citation for no insurance.

On June 5, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for expired license plate. Driver received a citation for no insurance.

On June 8, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of W. I-10 for expired registration.

On June 9, Powe stopped a vehicle for unrestrained child in the 600 block of E. 1-10 and driver also received citation for no drivers license and passenger received a warning for allowing unlicensed person to drive.

On June 8, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of N. Kessler for expired registration and driver issued citation for no drivers license.

On June 8, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of W. I-10 for failure to dim headlights. Driver received citation for no drivers license.

On June 8, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Kessler for expired registration. Driver received a citation.

On June 8, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of E. I-10 for no front license plate. Driver received warning for no front license plate and defective brake light.

On June 8, Officer Frank Parkinson stopped a vehicle for going 96 mph in a 75 mph zone at mile marker 676 on I-10.

On June 9, Powe stopped a vehicle for expired registration in the 700 block of N. Kessler. Driver received a citation for no insurance.

On June 9, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of N. Kessler for defective headlight and no front license plate. Driver and passenger were both arrested.

On June 9, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 40 block of N. Kessler for expired registration. Driver received a citation and passenger was arrested for a warrant then refused by jail staff.

On June 9, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of E I-10 for no front license plate. Driver received a citation for no insurance.

On June 9, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 600 bock of W I-10 for no license plate light. Driver received a citation for no drivers license.

On June 10, Powe stopped a vehicle for a defective headlight in the 100 block of Kessler. Driver received a warning.

On June 11, Officer Hailee Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Kessler for running a red light at Hwy. 77 and 90. Citation was issued.

Welfare Check

On June 5, Mills and McFadden and Officer Juan Castilleja and Deputy Olivera arrived at the Meadows Apartments due to manager smelling a strong odor of marijuana.

On June 11, Kalina was dispatched to the 200 block of W. I-10 frontage Rd. for a welfare check.

Miscellaneous

On June 10, Vincent responded to the 400 block of Baumgarten in reference to someone dumping trash in complainants dumpster. She advised she keeps it locked until Thursday night when they leave and that’s when it gets filled up.
