Schulenburg Police Report

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of March 13-19:

Agency Assist

On March 14, Castilleja was dispatched to the 600 block of east exit ramp in reference to a possible 18-wheeler that was on fire. Officer arrived and driver had already put the fire out. The fire department arrived on scene and sprayed down the rear axle and got the brakes cooled off.

On March 15, Castilleja was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler in reference to an issue between two vehicles.

Assault

On March 15, Kalina investigated an assault in the 700 block of N. Kessler.

Accident

On March 18, Kalina responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler for an accident.

Civil Matter

On March 14, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the Hitching Post in reference to child custody. Father advised his ex wife did not arrive at the destination and it was the designated time and place for the child custody swap.

On March 18, Vincent responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a child custody exchange that did not happen.

Reckless Driver

On March 18, Kalina responded to a reckless driver in the 600 block of East I-10 heading east bound. Officer checked the area but could not locate.

Sexual Assault

On March 19, Kalina investigated a sexual assault in the 500 block of West.

Suspicious Vehicle/ Subject

On March 15, Kalina responded to the 50 block of N. Kessler for a vehicle parked in the parking lot for a day. Officer was able to make contact with the owner who lives in Bryan. Owner advised it broke down and she is working on getting the vehicle towed.

On March 15, Castilleja was dispatched to the 300 block of August in reference to a suspicious person walking down the street. Officer made contact with the female that was out walking. Call cleared.

Traffic Stop

On March 13, McFadden stopped a vehicle in the 77 block of Kessler that hit a curb while driving. The car came to a stop at Bucek and Kessler. Driver admitted to drinking but test was inconclusive. Driver was released to a parent and his car was towed.

On March 16, Castilleja conducted a traffic stop on the 400 block of Paulus for an obscured license plate. Driver was issued a warning.

On March 17, Meagher stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Kallus for driver with no seatbelt and for no drivers license and no insurance.

On March 18, Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Kessler for a speeding vehicle.

Welfare Check

On March 14, Kalina responded to the 1100 block of Bohlmann in reference to a female lying on the ground near the creek. Officer spoke to her and she advised she was just out walking to clear her head. Officer offered to give her a ride home since she lived across town. She accepted the ride and officer took her to the house.

Animal Complaint

On March 14, Officer Juan Castilleja responded to the 300 block of August for dogs that are barking.

On March 17, Castilleja was dispatched to the 2000 block of Hwy. 90 in reference to a loose cow in the area. Officer was unable to locate the cow.

On March 17, Officer Duane Meagher picked up two loose dogs in the 1200 block of Kallus.
