Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of May 18-23.

Animal Complaint

On May 19, Officer Jeffrey Whited was advised of a loose horse around 1300 block of Summit. Officer searched the area but was uable to locate.

Agency Assist

On May 18, Whited was advised of a shooting in Columbus at a club. Officer Whited helped search for the suspect’s vehicle.

Disturbance

On May 19, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 1100 block of James Avenue for a possible physical disturbance.

On May 21, Castilleja was dispatched to the 500 block of West Avenue for a disturbance between employees.

Found Property

On May 22, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Anderson for a found House Life cordless leaf blower.

Suspicious Vehicle/Person 

On May 18, Whited observed a silver color Ford truck driving around in the parking lot of the school. Officer followed the vehicle and the driver advised they were fine just bored and driving around.

On May 18, Whited while patrolling around Blinn College he noticed a vehicle parked next to a cargo trailer. Officer contacted individual, and all was fine.

On May 23, Whited was dispatched to the 1100 block of Black Street regarding two suspicious male subjects. Officer was unable to locate.

Traffic Stop

On May 19, Officer Reyden Svatek stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for defective tail lamp. Driver received a citation for failure to maintain financial responsibility.

On May 21, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for defective head lamp. Driver received a warning.

On May 22, Sgt. Tobey McFadden stopped a driver for speeding in the 100 block of Kessler. A warning for speeding was issued.

Welfare Check

On May 19, Krenek was asked to do a welfare check on a student in the 600 block of Summit that has not been at school. Officer observed a window unit running but no one answered the door.

On May 19, Svatek stopped and checked on a female walking a baby stroller in the 300 block of Schwartz. There was a strong language barrier, but she had questions about getting help from a therapist as she was suffering from postpartum.
