    Schulenburg Police Officer Responds to Reported Trespassing

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 9-15.

Criminal Trespass

On June 10, Officer MD Krenek responded to the 25 block of N. Kessler regarding a subject refusing to leave the store and move from the fuel pump. Officer met with the subject, and she was refusing to leave. Officer advised she would be arrested if she did not. She still challenged the officer, Krenek advised she was under arrest and began to handcuff her, she then quickly decided to leave.

On June 10, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the 77 block of Kessler to Dairy Queen involving a subject who used profane language towards employee and manager. Upon arrival subject was not there, manager wanted Criminal trespass issued. Subject located and issued a criminal trespass warning.

On June 11, Krenek responded to the 300 block of Simpson where complainant was requesting an office to remove individual from the parking lot. Individual has been in the parking lot for several days; Officer arrived and advised the subject they needed to leave. The subject began to yell at officer and shooting the middle finger. Officer had been advised by Columbus police department that individual had been squatting in Columbus for over a month and they had to criminal trespass. Civil Matter

On June 10, Krenek was dispatched to the 400 block of St. John regarding a civil mater.

On June 11, Krenek responded to the 900 block of Baumgarten regarding a civil matter between roommates.

Suspicious Person

On June 10, Krenek talked with complainant at the police station regarding two juveniles walking around and knocking on doors and asking for money. Individual had a video of the kids and maybe someone will know who the kids are.

Suspicious Person/Vehicle

On June 10, Krenek talked to an individual at the police station regarding two juveniles that came to the door at night asking for work. Individual lives alone and it scared her. She advised them they could not work at night and who was their mother? A close patrol will be done.

On June 11, Whited was dispatched to the 300 block of Klesel for a suspicious person walking near vehicles.

On June 15, Krenek was dispatched to the 1500 block of Kessler regarding a male sitting on the caller’s property under a tree. Officer met with the individual and he told officer he was a Forrest Gump type of guy and was running through the country. He was not intoxicated or anything, just exploring. Officer advised subject was on someone’s property and they were concerned. Individual apologized and left running South on Kessler. Traffic Stop

On June 14, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver in the 1400 block of Kellett for a defective right headlight. Driver received a warning for defective headlight and a citation for no driver’s license.

On June 14, Powe stopped a driver in the I-10 Westbound frontage road for driving on the wrong side of the road, driver received a warning.

On June 14, Powe stopped a driver in the 200 block of East Avenue for a speeding violation. Driver issued a warning.

On June 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for expired registration (4-24) Driver received a warning for expired registration and operating a vehicle without a front license plate. Driver received a citation for no insurance.

On June 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 800 block of Paulus for failure to use signal indicator and expired registration. Driver received a warning.

On June 15, Powe stopped a driver in the eastbound frontage road of I-10 for driving without lights when required (taillights) Driver received a warning for driving without lights and a citation for no driver’s license and passenger that was the registered owner received a citation for permitting an unlicensed person to drive.

On June 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for no license plate light. Driver received a warning for no license plate and citations for no driver’s license and no insurance.

On June 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for no license plate lights. Driver received a warning for no license plate lights and citations for no driver’s license and no insurance.

On June 15, Krenek stopped a driver at the intersection of James and summit for disregarding a stop sign. Driver issued a warning.

Welfare Check

On June 13, Krenek responded to the 700 block of Lyons regarding an elderly man walking around and seemed confused. Officer checked the area and no one matching the description was found.

On June 14, Whited responded to the 1000 block of Anderson for a welfare check.

On June 14, Krenek was dispatched to the 1300 block of N. Main regarding a male resident not making sense. EMS was dispatched and man could not tell me his name or where he was, he was taken to a hospital.
