Schulenburg Police Confiscate Gun Following Pursuit in Town

Schulenburg Police seized a gun following a vehicle pursuit on Monday, June 3.

According to the department, officers attempted to stop a white GMC around 7 a.m. on Monday for a traffic violation. The vehicle failed to stop despite officers following with lights and sirens. The vehicle finally stopped in the 1500 block of Kellett Ave. Officers searched the vehicle and located drugs and a firearm.

They arrested 20-year-old Damien Hood, Jr., of Columbus for evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle, possession of controlled substance, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

“He said he had the gun for a music video,” said Schulenburg Police Officer Hailey Vincent.
