Schulenburg PD Helps Intoxicated Man Get to His Correct Hotel Room

Schulenburg Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of On Feb. 13-19.

Criminal Trespass

On Feb. 15, Kalina responded to the 200 block of West I-10 frontage in reference to a male subject being at the hotel and he did not have a room there. Officer learned the individual had a room at a different hotel and he was intoxicated and was told he had a room at another hotel. Officer took him safely to his room and advised him to stay in the room or he would be jailed.

On Feb. 15, Kalina responded to the 200 block of Heinrich in reference to a black male wearing a black jacket and blue scrub pants on location that refused to leave. Upon arrival officer spoke to management and they advised he left walking eastbound. Officer was unable to locate male subject.

On Feb. 15, Kalina responded to the 200 block of August in reference to a criminal trespass. Subject was issue a criminal trespass an left the location without incident.

Animal Complaint

On Feb. 14, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 200 block of S. Main for dogs not being on a long enough chains. Officer on arrival observed the dogs were on five times the body length of chain and one dog was kept outside and had food and water and shelter and a long enough chain.

On Feb. 17, Officer Frank Parkinson responded to the 1200 block of Kallus where complaint advised owners dog chased someone again. Citations were issued.

On Feb. 19, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 300 block of Black St. for a loose dog that was slightly aggressive towards his kids.

Accident

On Feb. 14, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 200 block of College to the Arlan’s parking lot for an accident.

On Feb. 16, Castilleja was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler to the Pilot parking lot in reference to a minor accident.

Disturbance

On Feb. 17, Vincent was dispatched to the 1100 block of J A Green St. in reference to a disturbance between mother and son.

On Feb. 18, Officer Duane Meager responded to the 700 block of Kessler for a male subject yelling at the Taco Bell employees over his burrito and told the employee to step outside and he would “whoop his (expletive).” Officer was unable to locate the truck driver.

Noise Complaint

On Feb. 15, Castilleja was dispatched to the 1100 block of Summit in reference to a noise complaint. Officer located the disturbance and asked the individual to turn down the music.

Suspicious Vehicle/Person

On Feb. 15, Vincent responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 1300 block of Lyons. Officer met with the individual that had pulled over to take a nap while en route to the next job site.

On Feb. 16, Parkinson spoke with a subject sleeping in front of the Lutheran church entrance in the 100 block of Keuper. Officer told him he could not sleep there and saw him walking east on Hwy. 90.

Traffic Stop

On Feb. 13, Sgt. Tobey McFadden stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of East I-10 for defective equipment, license plate not being visible from 50 feet away.

On Feb. 14, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for a defective headlamp and a warning was issued. Driver also did not have insurance.

On Feb. 16, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for a vehicle driving 34 mph in a 25 mph school zone. Officer also had to get out of the vehicle in order to read the license plate. There was a work tool mounted in front of it. A citation was issued for that violation as well.

On Feb. 16, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 43 mph in a 25 mph school zone.

On Feb. 16, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 45 mph in a 25 mph school zone.

On Feb. 16, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 35 mph in a 25 mph school zone. A citation was issued.

On Feb. 16, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 37 mph in a 25 mph school zone. A citation was issued.

On Feb. 16, Meagher stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Kessler for speeding going 38 mph in a 30 mph zone. Driver also did not have a valid drivers license and no proof of insurance.

On Feb. 16, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. A citation was issued.

On Feb. 16, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 38 mph in a 25 mph school zone. A citation was issued.

On Feb. 17, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 35 mph in a 25 mph school zone. A citation was issued.

On Feb. 17, Parkinson stopped a vehicle for driving 41 mph in a 25 mph school zone in the 300 block of Kessler. A citation was issued for the violation.

On Feb. 17, Parkinson stopped a vehicle at West and Eilers that ran a stop sign directly in front of the officer. Officer turned around and issued citation to let her know it was a violation.

On Feb. 17, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 42 mph in a 25 mph school zone. Driver did not have a valid drivers license. Citations were issued.

On Feb. 17, Parkinson stopped a vehicle at Summit and James for driving 54 mph in a 45 mph zone and for failing to display drivers license when asked.

On Feb. 18, Parkinson stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Kessler for driving 35 mph in a 25 mph school zone. A citation was issued.

On Feb. 18, Vincent stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 45 mph in a 25 mph zone. A citation was issued.

On Feb. 19, Castilleja stopped a vehicle in the 40 block of Kessler for a vehicle with a defective headlamp. Officer issued a warning.

Traffic Hazard

On Feb. 17, Parkinson waited behind a stranded motorist in the 300 block of Kessler until a tow truck arrived and moved the car off the roadway.
