Carmine C of C Mixer & Awards
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring their Mixer and Awards Night on Friday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. in honor of Texas Independence Day. Entertainment will be by Robert Herridge and Ella Grace Broussard on Violin and Fiddle. Come for door prizes and a fun activity.

Heritage Committee Meeting
The Heritage Committee of the Carmine Chamber of Commerce will have its quarterly meeting on March 2 at 10 a.m. in the museum.
The topic for discussion will be old businesses in the area— their locations, owners or operators and business interest.
All are welcome to attend. Share old memories or learn new facts as the history of the area is explored. For additional information, call (979) 277-3614.

MLLC Rebekah Group Meets
The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met Feb. 10. The 11 ladies present were Dianna Gerland, Sedalia Ullrich, Carol Carmean, Jocie Jacob-Braun, Joys Baird, Diana Wunderlich, Joann Ullrich, Susan Ray, Leonita Sanders, Barbara Jacob, and Nancy Eilers.
Birthday celebrants recognized were Leonita Sanders, Vickie Neutzler, and Ora Lee Levien.
For the group Bible study, the theme was “The Kingdom of God; What does it mean for God to be in charge; Session two: Mysteries of the Kingdom: Parables.”
The business meeting was called to order by Susan Ray, president.
Minutes and treasurer’s report of the previous meeting were approved as read. Thank you notes were received from the Fayette County Sheriff’s office for the Deputy Santa donation; the family of Elvera Limmer for the memorial; and Leonita Sanders for the birthday card. Dianna Gerland also expressed her thanks for the birthday card sent her.
Quilting will be held on Feb. 14. Baby Care Kits were collected during January and AMEN. ingathering is during February.
Leonita will recognize Bold Women’s Day on Feb. 27 during the worship service and lead a litany. World Day of Prayer is March 4.
Baby Care kits will be assembled on Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
The group decided to donate $500 to Vacation Bible School for T-shirts. VBS will be held June 12-16 in the evening.
It was decided to change the April meeting date to April 21, since Maundy Thursday is on the second Thursday in April.
Eighty-five pounds of food was taken to AMEN on Jan. 18 by Brick Peele.
Leonita gave the offering meditation based on Second Corinthians 9:7.
The meeting adjourned with The Lord’s Prayer and the singing of the table prayer. Happy Birthday was sung for the birthday celebrants.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion observing the Transfiguration of Our Lord is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Men in Mission meet Monday at 6 p.m.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean #1 and #2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
