    RT-Carmine Booster Club Planning Second Shrimp Boil Fundraiser

The RT-C Booster club is sponsoring its second annual shrimp boil fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 27 at a new location, which is the Round Top Rifle Hall, beginning at 5 p.m. with Happy Hour. The meal will be served at 6 p.m. VIP table for 10 is $1,200 and a table for 8 is $700. To purchase tables, email amy@bluebonnetabstract. com or contact (979) 203-4343.

RT-C School News 

Teacher workday is Aug. 12. Classes for the 2025-2026 school year begin on Aug. 13.

The JV and varsity volleyball teams played scrimmages at Giddings, La Grange, and Iola last week. The teams play the first games on Aug. 12 at Anderson-Shiro, beginning at 5 p.m. Varsity will participate in the Columbus tournament Aug. 14-16. JV and varsity play the first home game on Aug. 19, with Giddings as the opponent.

Looking ahead, the first FFA meeting of the year will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m.

Jr. High Fall Baseball games will begin on Thursday, Aug. 28 when the RT-C team plays at North Zulch at 5 p.m.

Blood Drive at MLLC 

A blood drive will be held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on Sunday, Aug. 24 from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Donors can go online at commitforlife. org to make an appointment with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center Donor Portal.

It is sponsored by both Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top and MLLC of Carmine. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Condolences 

Sympathy is extended to the family of Val Gean Hinze, who passed away on July 27. His funeral service was held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on Aug. 1 with burial at the Carmine Cemetery.

He was raised in the Carmine area and taught science in the Moulton school district for many years. After retirement, he moved back to Carmine, where he became a member of the American Legion Quade Werchan Post 338 and the Young Farmers chapter. MLLC News

Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes is Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

The Women of the ELCA will meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 2 p.m., following the WELCA meeting.

AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship, observing the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost, is at 10 a.m. with Matt Kindsvatter from Lutherhill Ministries serving as the leader. He will give the Blessing of Backpacks. Holy Communion will not be served.

Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.

Visitors’ Center 

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot and Museum is open on the second Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. It is located at 248 E Sylvan, Carmine, TX 78932, which is on the south side of Highway 290.
