RT-C Elementary Hosting Kindergarten Roundup April 12

Round Top-Carmine Elementary will have a Kindergarten Roundup on April 12, at the elementary school from 5-5:30 p.m. Children who plan to attend Kindergarten at Round Top-Carmine Elementary for the 2022-2023 school year are invited to attend. Parents are asked to bring their completed enrollment packet, along with all required documents at this time. Enrollment packets are available for download on the rtcisd.net website under the Parent/Student Resources tab. (https://www.rtcisd.net/domain/171) There is also a checkoff list for the documents needed for enrollment. Packets will be checked by school staff while parents and their student(s) meet with the Kindergarten teacher. Tours of the campus will not be available during the Roundup. Children who will be five years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2022, are eligible for enrollment in the Kindergarten Class for the 2022-2023 school year.

Round Top-Carmine High School Baseball team hosts Fayetteville on April 5 at 4:30 p.m. They play at Fayetteville April 8 at 6:30 p.m.

The District Track Meet will be held in Fayetteville on April 11. Varsity competes during the day and Jr. High will run after 3:30 p.m.

Upcoming holidays are April 15-Good Friday and April 18-Easter Monday. Information is on the RTCISD website concerning transfer students. The letters and forms will be available after April 11. If you are unable to access the online forms, please call (979) 249-3200 and a hard copy will be provided. New-student Enrollment Packet is currently on the rtcisd website for print out.

Results of RTC FFA and Jr. FFA high school students who participated in the Fayette County Jr. Livestock Show are: Rylan Stork-Grand Champion and Senior Showman Ag Mechanics and Reserve Champion Lamb; Emma Baird-Senior Goat Showmanship; Lane Riley-2nd place Goat; Brayden Dallmeyer-3rd place Pig; Mallory Krause-3rd place Cockerels; and Cooper Riley-8th place Goat. Congratulations.

Also, Congratulations to RTC High School students who competed at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. They are: Rylan Stork-2nd place Ag Mechanics; Emme Dallmeyer-2nd place Food Challenge and 8th place Ag Product ID; Mallory Krause-28th place Broilers; and Jordan Stanley-Commercial Steer Sale.

Carmine VFD

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Drill Night is April 14 at 7 p.m. The department will have their annual Firemen’s Feast and Fundraiser on July 17.

The burn ban remains in effect for Fayette County.

Carmine Easter Egg Hunt

Carmine Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 16 at the Muehlbrad/ Albers Carmine City Park from 10-11 a.m. The Easters Bunny will arrive at 10 a.m.

Hunting begins at 10:10 a.m. and every 10 minutes thereafter. There will be designated hunting areas according to ages including 2-4, 5-7, 8-9, and 10-12. Bring your baskets and cameras for pictures.

MLLC News

The last Lent Service for Martin Luther Lutheran Church and Waldeck will be held in Carmine on April 6 at 7 p.m. A meal of breakfast food will be served at 6 p.m. The theme this year is “The Six Disciplines of Lent.” Rev. Candy O’Meara will lead the service this Wednesday on “Works of Love.”

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion observing Palm Sunday is at 10 a.m. Praise Team leads songs and the Noisy Offering will be received. This year’s Noisy Offering is designated for Water to Thrive. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Property and Christian Ed Committees meet after worship.

First Holy Communion class is in the Mission and Ministry Building following worship, beginning about 11:15 a.m.

Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.

Recycling Trailer

The Recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.

Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean #1 and #2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.

The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.

Carmine Chamber

Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10-2.
