    RT-C Booster Club Shrimp Boil Fundraiser Saturday

The RT-C Booster club is sponsoring its second annual Shrimp Boil fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 27. This year it will be held at the Round Top Rifle Hall, with Happy Hour beginning at 5 p.m. The meal will be served at 6 p.m. VIP table for 10 is $1,200 and a table for 8 is $700. Western Cluster Gathering 

The Women of the ELCA of Martin Luther Lutheran Church will be hosting the Western Cluster Fall Gathering on Saturday, Sept. 27 beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a brunch. A program is planned and the business meeting will follow.

Purse Bingo Cancelled 

The Purse Bingo, sponsored by the RT-C Education Foundation, has been cancelled for this year.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine varsity and JV volleyball teams play at Hearne on Sept. 23 at 4:30 p.m. They host Lexington on Sept. 26 at 5.

Jr. High volleyball team hosts Serbin on Sept. 22 at 5 p.m. and plays at Fayetteville on Sept. 29 also at 5.

Jr. High Baseball team plays at Mumford on Sept. 25 at 4:30.

High school and junior high girls’ and boys’ athletes will participate in the Shiner Invitational Cross-Country meet on Sept. 27 in Shiner.

Report cards will be sent home on Sept. 25.

Dig Pink night will be observed on Oct. 14 when the volleyball teams host Fayetteville. T-shirts may be ordered online at the RTC website. Proceeds go to the Side-Out Foundation supporting breast cancer research and awareness. Deadline to order is 10 a.m. on Sept. 22.

Bingo at Carmine Hall 

The Carmine Hall is sponsoring Bingo night on Friday, Sept. 26 at the hall located at 300 N Hauptstrasse St. Doors open at 4 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. There will twelve regular games and two coverall games.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

MLLC Rebekah Group 

The Martin Luther Lutheran Church Rebekah Group met on Sept. 11. Seven members were present, including Leonita Sanders, Joys Baird, Sharon Rhome, Diana Wunderlich, Joann Ullrich, Dianna Gerland, and Nancy Eilers.

Joys Baird led the Bible Study with the theme, “Money, Stewardship, and Generosity; Session One: Money, what

do we treasure?”

The business meeting was called to order by Vice-President Joann Ullrich.

A thank you note was read from the staff of Round Top-Carmine ISD for helping host the teacher breakfast.

Diana Wunderlich reported for Mission Action that quilts had been packed for Lutheran World Relief. Another date will be set at the October meeting for the final packing for LWR. Shipment will be on Nov. 1.

Joys Baird reported for Mission Community that the Western Cluster Fall Gathering will be held at MLLC on Sept. 27. Ladies have signed up to bring food items for the brunch.

Krause Duo will provide the music for the Harvest Festival on October 19. Confirmation classes ending in the years 0 and 5 will be recognized.

Reformation service is on

Oct. 26 at Lutherhill.

The Thankoffering service is on November 9.

Dianna Gerland gave the Offering Meditation.

The meeting adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer and the singing of the table prayer.

MLLC News 

Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

Confirmation class meets Wednesday from 4:15-6:15 p.m.

AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship, with Holy Communion observing Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost, is at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bonnie Parker serving as the guest pastor.

Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Harvest Festival 

The annual Harvest Festival and Homecoming is scheduled for Oct. 19 at the Carmine Hall. Worship music will be led by Krause Duo.

A meal of pork ribeye and sausage, potatoes, and green beans will be served from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Meal tickets are $15. Tickets for a drawing will also be sold.

Confirmation homecoming classes ending in 5 and 0

will be recognized.

Visitors’ Center 

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot and Museum is open on both the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

It is located at 248 E Sylvan, Carmine, TX 78932, which is on the south side of Hwy. 290.
