Round Top, Flatonia Get Millions for Water Projects
Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., announced this week that the Texas General Land Office (GLO) approved $45,027,000.00 in regional mitigation funds to improve critical infrastructure, including roads, drainage, water detention, and sewer systems in Fayette and Nueces counties.
The Fayette County Projects include: City of Round Top Waterline and Street Improvements - $1,965,200 The town shall improve street surfacing and drainage with improved function of water lines including: 1. Bauer Rummel Street Improvement: Excavate, reclaim and compact pavement, install asphalt and base, replace driveway culverts, improve channel and outfall structure, up-size, reconnect and move existing waterline, and complete associated appurtenances.
2. FM 1457 Water Line: Replace and up-size waterline, install fire hydrants, and complete associated appurtenances.
City of Flatonia Citywide Water Improvements - $3,022,400 The city will acquire easement, construct a well, install pump, motor, meter, pipe, water line, valves, tie-ins, and fire hydrants, reconnect services, and repair pavement.
