Round Top Family Library Cuts Ties With Moreau After Incident
The Round Top Family Library Board of Directors wishes to inform the community of a recent and unfortunate incident involving our now-former Executive Director, Craig Moreau. Earlier this week, an accidental discharge of a firearm occurred off-site and outside of library hours, involving our Executive Director. While we are grateful that both individuals injured in the incident are recovering, we recognize the seriousness of this event and its impact on our library family and the broader community.
In response, the Executive Committee took immediate steps to assess the situation and determine the appropriate course of action. Before a formal suspension could be communicated, our Executive Director voluntarily submitted his resignation, which was received and accepted on the morning of July 31.
This is a difficult moment for all involved; however, we want to assure our patrons, partners, and community members that Round Top Family Library remains as strong and committed as ever. Our Board is actively working on a leadership transition plan, including the potential appointment of an interim Executive Director. Our focus remains on providing the highest level of programs and services to the children, families, and individuals who depend on us.
We are incredibly proud of our exceptional staff, dedicated volunteers, and engaged supporters. Their unwavering commitment ensures that our mission continues without interruption. We thank you for your trust, understanding, and continued support during this time.
