Roast Beef Dinner Oct. 13 Benefits St. John-Ellinger

St. John Lutheran in Ellinger is selling raffle tickets now in conjunction with their annual roast beef dinner. The dinner will be on Sunday, Oct. 13. Raffle tickets $20 for one ticket, $50 for three, and only 1,000 tickets are sold. There are 40 great prizes on the ticket. The drawing will be immediately after the drive through dinner.

The roast beef and sausage plates are $15 and will be a drive through from 11 a.m.12:30 p.m. Advance tickets are encouraged and Peters BBQ will cater. Also, desserts will be available. Lucille Koehl at (979) 966-3455 and Annie Mueller at (979) 7025192, any church member, Koehl’s in Ellinger, Fayetteville Bank in Fayetteville and the SLM office in Warrenton have tickets for sale.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Ellinger Cof C 

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will host a Bingo event on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the chamber hall, 104 W. Colorado Sky Street. Doors open at 4 p.m., kitchen opens at 5 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, desserts and refreshments will be available.

The chamber will meet on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. in the dining hall. All chamber and community members are welcome.

Wedding Shower 

Brooke Schobel, fiancé of Koltin Kocian, was honored with a wedding shower on Saturday, Sept. 21. The shower followed a theme of Love is in Bloom at Busted Oaks Cellar in Carmine. The venue was decorated with fresh flower arrangements of various kinds and colors on the guest tables at well as a photo backdrop. Lunch consisted of chicken salad and ham sandwiches, salad in a cup, pasta in a cup, fruit, vegetables, chips and dip, tea, water and red and white sangria. On the sweet side, decorated cookies and delectable dessert bites were served. Brooke unwrapped many useful gifts for her kitchen and home, carefully cutting the bows and ribbons. These bows and ribbons will be saved and will be turned into a bouquet for her wedding rehearsal. Guests received a seed packet as a thank you gesture. Koltin and Brooke will be married in November in La Grange.
