Record Snags Nine Statewide Journalism Awards in Dallas
The Fayette County Record had its best showing at the state level in years, winning nine awards at the Texas Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest last week. The awards were announced at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas as part of TPA’s annual convention and trade show.
Competing in the largest non-daily circulation category against papers from much larger population centers, The Record actually ended up third in the sweepstakes standings, behind only the Nacogdoches Sentinel and the Kerrville Times.
Judging was done by the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association.
