Food Truck
The Fayette County Record office will be closed to the public Dec. 24-26 and Jan. 1. We will print and distribute our regular Tuesday and Friday issues as normal with the exception of the Friday Dec. 27, which will be skipped. Merry Christmas from all of us at The Record!
The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran church on Saturday, Dec. 21. Drive through only from 10-11 a.m. Volunteers are always appreciated.
Candy/Bake Sale
St. Mary’s Altar Society will have a candy and bake sale on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 8 a.m. St. Mary’s Parish Hall next to St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Ellinger. Kolaches, cakes, homemade candy, cookies, pies, hot dogs, sandwiches, sides, Christmas items and more. Raffle tickets will be sold and prizes will be awarded at 12 p.m.
A Christmas Carol
The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) this year is gifting KTIM 89.1 FM listeners and members of the community its first ever radio show. It is Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol adapted by Anthony E. Palermo, and broadcasts of the recorded production will air Saturday, Dec. 21 and Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.
St. James Service
St. James United Methodist Church located at 710 N. Jackson St. in La Grange will hold a Christmas Celebration Service on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Willie Mae Williams, Pastor. The community is invited to attend.

Cantata at First Presbyterian Church
This year’s cantata, “Christmas: The Story that Never Grows Old,” is compiled by Dave Clark and will be performed by our Chancel Choir led by Laura Gillette. We welcome soloist Marissa Muras, narrator Oliver Gunn, and pianist Miles Gillette to help us perform this musical celebration. Sunday, Dec. 22 at 10:30 a.m. Each December we are drawn again to the season of joy. Yet no matter how many times we tell it, no matter how familiar the words become, our hearts are still stirred by the wonder of it all. Christ has come! It’s a story that never grows old. The story of a Redeemer sent from heaven to earth. Is it any wonder we sing? Come enjoy the wonderful music and fellowship as we usher in the Christmas Season. The church is located at 205 S. Christmas Eve Candlelight Services
New Life Methodist Church, 1215 N. Von Minden, La Grange, will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Tuesday, Dec. 24. City of LG Christmas Garbage Schedule La Grange City offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. The week of Dec. 23-27 is garbage and recycle week. Waste Management will also have a holiday on Wednesday. Commercial customers scheduled on Wednesday will be picked up on Thursday. Residential and commercial customers with regular service on Thursday will slide to Friday. Residential and commercial customers with regular service on Friday will slide to Saturday.
