Adult Technology Training
Join the Fayette County Library for Adult Technology Training in La Grange on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. Hermann Sons Rutersville
Hermann Sons Rutersville will hold their June meeting on Wednesday, June 3 beginning at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. The meal’s main dish will be hamburgers, sides and desserts.
There’s more The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, June 7 at the Sealy American Legion Hall located at 1630 Meyer St. in Sealy. Al Sulak and the Country Sounds will be providing live music from 7:30-11 p.m. The public is always welcome.
Fayette County Beekeepers Meeting
The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, June 7 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange 255 Svoboda Ln. The evening begins with Beekeeping 101 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. a session ideal for beginners or anyone curious about getting started with bees. This month’s topic focuses on harvesting honey and beeswax and includes a hands-on honey harvest demonstrationlearn how to uncap frames, extract, and bottle honey. After the workshop, enjoy a potluck dinner, bring your favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. The monthly business meeting will follow dinner and continue exploring honey and hive products with a fun, interactive segment on honey infusions. Annual membership is just $25 per individual or family, but guests are always welcome. FaycoBeeks meets on the first Saturday of every month, except in July due to the holiday weekend. Florida Chapel Cemetery Meeting
The Florida Chapel Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at the Muesse Chapel. Meeting is open to the public. Election of officers will be held. Charlotte’s Web Auditions
Calling all students, K-12: join Fayette County Community Theatre as we make friends with a farming family and all the animals who live there. Auditions for the Summer Student production: Charlotte’s Web, based on the book by E.B. White and adapted by Joseph Robinette, are Sunday, June 8 at 3 p.m. and Monday, June 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the La Grange ISD Performing Arts Center. Performances are July 25, 26, and 27. Questions? Country Music Night
Country Music Night will be held Monday, June 9 at the Lee County Senior Center, 161 West Austin St. in Giddings, featuring local musicians The Krause Duo, Kimberlyn and Curtis Krause. Music starts at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. A free-will donation will be collected and all proceeds will be given to the music talent. Everyone is welcome.
Czech Heritage Society
The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society will host its annual Piknik, with a meeting to follow, on Tuesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. at TCHCC in La Grange. The Fayette County 2025-2026 Little Princess will be introduced and crowned and the CHS High School scholarship winner will be announced. There will be accordion music, Czech-English bingo, food, and a silent auction. Members, please bring a side dish and an auction item. Guests and potential new members are welcome. Vítáme Vás!
St. Michael’s Annual Picnic
Join Saint Michael’s Lutheran Church for their annual picnic on Saturday, June 14 in historic downtown Winchester. Enjoy a barbeue meal served by the plate from 5-6:30 p.m. for $15. Plates available to go. Meal includes pork or chicken barbecue, sauce, potato salad, noodles, beans, bread, iced tea and dessert. Beer and soda stand opens at 3 p.m.Washer tournament begins at 4 p.m. Bounce house and arts and crafts for the kids. The live auction begins at 6 p.m. with remaining barbecue sold by the pound at 6:30 p.m. Portion of the proceeds are dedicated to tuition assistance for Lutheran schools. Come to the place where friends meet friends and strangers become friends.
Bingo In Ledbetter
Bingo for seniors (60 and older) plus guests at will be held at the Ledbetter Community Center on Sunday, June 15 from 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. $5/card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Chips/snacks and drinks available for freewill donation.
Herb Society of America
The Pioneer Unit of the Herb Society of America will be meeting Thursday, June 12 to hear Monika Maeckle, well known for her work with Monarch butterflies. Monika will be talking about her latest book, “Plants with Purpose.” The talk will take place at the Brenham Presbyterian Church at 900 S. Jackson Street in Brenham.
