Juneteenth Fundraiser 

A Juneteenth fundraiser will be held at Hank’s Express located at Hwy. 77 and 71 Bus. at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31. Drive through only. Fried fish and trimmings for $15. For questions, call Verlia Mosley Rhodes at (979) 7029441. Donations are also appreciated.

Mt. Calvary Church Picnic

Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and Preschool’s 30th annual church picnic will be held on Sunday, June 1 at the La Grange Knights of Columbus Hall at 190 Brown St., La Grange. Pastor Jason Kaspar will be leading worship service at 9 a.m. (casual dress okay). Barbecue beef brisket and sausage meal with all the trimmings will be served from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. All plates are $20 dine in or drive thru. There will be children’s activities, silent auctions, a live auction beginning at 12:30 p.m. and live music provided by Rabb’s Creek Band. Raffle prize winners will be drawn throughout the live auction. Meal and raffle tickets may be purchased at La Grange Chevron, Weikel’s Bakery, or the church office. Hermann Sons Rutersville

Hermann Sons Rutersville will hold their June meeting on Wednesday, June 3 beginning at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. The meal’s main dish will be hamburgers, sides and desserts.

American Legion Quade-Werchan

The next meeting of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary are scheduled for Thursday, June 5. The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top.

Lions Sealy Dance Club

The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, June 7 at the Sealy American Legion Hall located at 1630 Meyer St. in Sealy. Al Sulak and the Country Sounds will be providing live music from 7:30-11 p.m. The public is always welcome.

Fayette County Beekeepers Meeting

The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, June 7 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange 255 Svoboda Ln. The evening begins with Beekeeping 101 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. a session ideal for beginners or anyone curious about getting started with bees. This month’s topic focuses on harvesting honey and beeswax and includes a hands-on honey harvest demonstration. Learn how to uncap frames, extract, and bottle honey. After the workshop, enjoy a potluck dinner, bring your favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. The monthly business meeting will follow dinner and continue exploring honey and hive products with a fun, interactive segment on honey infusions. Annual membership is just $25 per individual or family, but guests are always welcome. FaycoBeeks meets on the first Saturday of every month, except in July due to the holiday weekend. Florida Chapel Cemetery Meeting The Florida Chapel Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at the Muesse Chapel. Meeting is open to the public. Election of officers will be held. Encourage people to attend to help in preserving and maintaining the cemetery. Charlotte’s Web Auditions

Calling all students, K-12: join Fayette County Community Theatre as we make friends with a farming family and all the animals who live there. Auditions for the Summer Student production: “Charlotte’s Web,” based on the book by E.B. White and adapted by Joseph Robinette, are Sunday, June 8 at 3 p.m. and Monday, June 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the La Grange ISD Performing Arts Center. Performances are July 25, 26, and 27. Questions? Czech Heritage Society

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society will host its annual Piknik, with a meeting to follow, on Tuesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. at TCHCC in La Grange. The Fayette County 2025-2026 Little Princess will be introduced and crowned and the CHS High School scholarship winner will be announced.
