Hermann Sons 

Hermann Sons Rutersville will hold their May meeting on Wednesday, May 7 beginning at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. The meal’s main dish will be provided by the lodge; please bring side dishes and desserts. 

Senior Game Day 

The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, May 8 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Game Day will be held every second and fourth Thursday of each month. For more information contact Liz Tannler at (281) 543-1976.

Who Kidnapped Mama? Join New Life Methodist Church for their who done it mystery night at in New Life Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Thursday, May 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. located at 1215 N. Von Minden in La Grange. Food and drinks will be provided. Please RSVP by calling (979) 968-8323.

Chicken Fried Chicken Breast Meal 

The Lafayette Masonic Lodge No. 34 will host a drive-thru dinner on Friday, May 9 from 4:30-6 p.m. Ticket sales will fund the LES Books for Bikes program. Plate includes chicken fried chicken breast, butter and onion potatoes, green beans with bacon, corn, and peach cobbler. Pick up will be at 192 S. Vail St. in the LES bus loop. Mary Martha Guild Bake Sale 

The Mt. Calvary Mary Martha Guild will host its annual Mother’s Day Bake Sale in front of National Bank and Trust on the courthouse square on Friday, May 9 beginning at 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. or until sold out. Baked goods available will include cakes, pies, brownies, cookies, cupcakes, and other home baked items. Free will donations. Funds raised will be used by the Guild to support various local outreach projects. 

Volunteer & Foster Meeting 

If you are seeking a meaningful way to spend your time or make a difference, join the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter on Saturday, May 10 at 10 a.m. for an informational session about volunteering and fostering. Sign up today to contribute positively to both animal welfare and personal fulfillment. Call (979) 966-0021 for information. The meeting will take place at the USDA Building, located at 255 Svoboda Ln., La Grange, opposite the animal shelter. 

Puzzle Swap 

The Round Top Family Library will have a puzzle swap on Saturday, May 10 at the library located at 206 W. Mill Street in Round Top. The swap is 10-11 a.m. This is free and open to the public. Bring your puzzles in taped boxes or bags to prevent missing pieces. If any pieces are missing, please note it on the box. If there are three or more pieces missing kindly recycle. 

Hot Dog and Bake Sale 

The St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinger will have a hot dog and bake sale on Saturday, May 10 at the church from 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Chili dogs will be available with all kinds of baked goods. St. James BBQ & Bake Sale 

The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club (Holy Smokers) will hold a barbecue and the Women will hold a bake sale on Saturday, May 10, from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St. across from H-E-B. A half chicken is $6 and sausage link is $7, drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). 

Praise and Worship Service 

Bethlehem AME Church will have Minister Leo Vaughns Jr. from Fort Worth, Saturday, May 10 at 2 p.m. The church is located at 5218 FM 3233 in La Grange. 

Mother’s Day Praise & Worship Service 

Bethlehem AME Church will have a Mother’s Day Service at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 11. The message will be by Dr. Raymond Bryant. The church is located at 5218 FM 3233 in La Grange. 

Fayetteville/Ellinger KC Shrimp Boil 

The 25th annual Fayetteville Ellinger KC Shrimp Boil will be held Friday, May 16 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Pavilion at 207 E. Bell St. in Fayetteville. Happy hour will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. with food served at 7:30 p.m. Shrimp and all the fixings provided by Cajun Country Cookers. Cost is $40 per person.
