Library Book Sale 

The Fayette Public Library’s annual used Book Sale is this weekend. Friday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday, April 27 from Noon to 4 p.m. 

Ellinger VFD Feast 

The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 34th annual feast and fundraiser on Sunday, April 27. The fundraiser will be held at the Ellinger C of C Community Center. A barbecue chicken and sausage meal with trimmings will be served in the hall beginning at 11 a.m. Drive-thru plates will be available at 10:30 a.m. The meal tickets are $15 per plate. Barbecue chicken will also be sold at the barbecue pits beginning at 10 a.m. for $12 per
chicken. A bake-sale will be held in the hall beginning at 10:30 a.m. The day’s events will also include a live auction that will begin at 1 p.m.  Proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will go towards the purchase of new equipment. CDA Meeting 

CDA Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange and Plum will be meeting on Monday, April 28 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Center in La Grange at 6:30 p.m. Members are invited to attend. New members are always welcome.

Join Whataburger from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 1800 Hwy. 71 Bypass in La Grange, as they will be donating 20% of sales to the La Grange Middle School Student Council. Dine in or drive-thru.

Black Jack Springs Cemetery Meeting

Black Jack Springs Cemetery Association meeting is Sunday, April 27 at 2:30 p.m. at the Cemetery just off FM 609, roughly midway between La Grange and Flatonia. Please make every effort to attend with your family. Please forward this message to other friends and family. Make this a mini family reunion. Bring drinks, light snacks, and a good story about your ancestors. Please give generously so that we have sufficient funds to maintain the cemetery, and build a new fence around the historic cemetery. 

Williams Creek Cemetery Meeting 

Williams Creek Cemetery will be holding it’s annual meeting and decoration day Sunday, April 27 at 2 p.m. in the cemetery. Potluck luncheon and fellowship will immediately follow. Please bring lawn chairs as there is no seating in the cemetery. 

St. John the Baptist Miracles Exhibit 

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville is hosting a Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit, April 27-May 4. Come and visit the exhibit and learn about different recorded miracles surrounding the Holy Eucharist that have taken place throughout the world. For Catholics, the Eucharist received during Communion each week is not a symbol, it is truly Jesus’s Body and Blood under the appearance of Bread and Wine. These Eucharistic Miracles reveal the moments we are pushed beyond our faith, when the appearance has truly changed beyond Bread and Wine, visible for all to see. Waldeck Cemetery Memorial Service 

The Decoration and Memorial Service for the Waldeck Cemetery will be held on Sunday, April 27 at the Waldeck Cemetery beginning at 2 p.m. A business meeting will follow the service, and light refreshments will be served. 

Creative Worship Service Honors Willie 

Saint Cecilia’s Episcopal Church in Round Top announces the third annual Willie Nelson Birthday Tribute Mass, Keep Your Hands on the Wheel. This unique service takes place annually on the Sunday closest to Willie Nelson’s birthday, this year on Sunday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the historic Round Top Dance Hall at 550 N. Washington in Round Top. The service features musicians Crispin Schroeder, Joey McGee, Chapman Welch, Ellen Melissa Story, Stephen Mansolo, Bobby McDonald and Rob Kazenel, with a spoken word from priest and author William “Father Bill” Miller. This Mass celebrates songs Willie wrote or recorded including Sing

American Legion Quade-Werchan Meeting 

The next meeting of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary are scheduled for Thursday, May 1. The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top. All members are encouraged to attend. 

Carmine Chamber Meeting 

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce monthly general meeting and ice cream social will be held from 6-8 p.m. at 248 E. Sylvan in Carmine on Thursday, May 1. All are welcome. RSVP, just drop in, or call Tamara at (512) 779-2883 with any questions. 

West Navidad Wildlife Management 

The West Navidad Wildife Management spring meeting is set for Saturday, May 3 at the Rockin W Sale barn on Hwy. 77 north of Schulenburg. Social is 5-6 p.m. with meal at 6 p.m. Program at 6:30 p.m. and business meeting at 7 p.m. A silent auction and raffle at 7:45 p.m. Bring items to help support the scholarship fund. The meal will be $10 a person. BYOB soda, tea and water is provided. 

Weimar Library Annual Book Sale 

Friends of the Weimar Public Library annual book sale will be held Saturday, May 3 beginning at 8 a.m. - noon at the Weimar Public Library located at 1 Jackson Square in Weimar.

Old High Hill Cemetery Decoration Day 

The Old High Hill Cemetery Association, Inc. annual business meeting will be held on Sunday, May 4 at St. Paul’s Hall, 712 Summit Street, in Schulenburg at 2 p.m. All members, family, and descendants of those buried in the cemetery are encouraged to attend and participate in the meeting. Decoration Day at Old High Hill Cemetery will be held on the same day, May 4. The Old High Hill Cemetery is located about three miles northwest of Schulenburg on FM 2672. 

Chicken Fried Chicken Breast Meal

The Lafayette Masonic Lodge No. 34 will host a drive-thru dinner on Friday, May 9 from 4:30-6 p.m. Ticket sales will fund the LES Books for Bikes program. Plate includes chicken fried chicken breast, butter and onion potatoes, green beans with bacon, corn, and peach cobbler. Pick up will be at 192 S. Vail St. in the LES bus loop.
