Game Day
The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, April 24 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Game Day will be held every second and fourth Thursday of each month. For more information, contact Liz Tannler at (281) 543-1976.
Garden Club
The La Grange Garden Club will meet on Thursday, April 24 and will take a field trip to the Wendish Museum and Gardens in Serbin.
Hermann Sons

Williams Creek
Williams Creek Cemetery will be holding it’s annual meeting and decoration day Sunday, April 27 at 2 p.m. in the cemetery. Potluck luncheon and fellowship immediately following. Please bring lawn chairs as there is no seating in the cemetery.
Altar Society
St. John Ladies Altar Society of Fayetteville will have their annual fundraiser on Saturday, April 26 9 a.m. to noon at the parish hall. A bake sale, country store, hot dogs and sandwiches will be offered. A raffle with a hand quilted quilt as the first of 31 prizes to be given away at noon. The public is invited.

For the Record on Page A2 & A5 The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 34th annual feast and fundraiser on Sunday, April 27. The fundraiser will be held at the Ellinger C of C Community Center. A barbecue chicken and sausage meal with trimmings will be served in the hall beginning at 11 a.m. Drive-thru plates will be available at 10:30 a.m. The meal tickets are $15 per plate. Barbecue chicken will also be sold at the barbecue pits beginning at 10 a.m. for $12 per chicken. A bake-sale will be held in the hall beginning at 10:30 a.m. The day’s events will also include a live auction that will begin at 1 p.m. Proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will go towards the purchase of new equipment. Black Jack Springs Cemetery Meeting
Black Jack Springs Cemetery Association meeting is Sunday, April 27 at 2:30 p.m. at the Cemetery just off FM 609, roughly midway between La Grange and Flatonia. Please make every effort to attend with your family. Please forward this message to other friends and family. Make this a mini family reunion. Bring drinks, light snacks, and a good story about your ancestors. Please give generously so that we have sufficient funds to maintain the cemetery, and build a new fence around the historic cemetery.
Decoration Day at Mt. Calvary Lutheran
Decoration day at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery located on the Old Plum Highway west of La Grange will be observed on Sunday, April 27 at 2:30 p.m. with a brief memorial service. For your comfort, you may bring a folding chair. Everyone is welcome.
Waldeck Cemetery Memorial Service The Decoration and Memorial Service for the Waldeck Cemetery will be held on Sunday, April 27 at the Waldeck Cemetery beginning at 2 p.m. A business meeting will follow the service, and light refreshments will be served.
Creative Worship Service Honors Willie Saint Cecilia’s Episcopal Church in Round Top announces the third annual Willie Nelson Birthday Tribute Mass, “Keep Your Hands on the Wheel.” This service takes place annually on the Sunday closest to Willie Nelson’s birthday, this year on Sunday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the historic Round Top Dance Hall at 550 N. Washington in Round Top. The service features musicians Crispin Schroeder, Joey McGee, Chapman Welch, Ellen Melissa Story, Stephen Mansolo, Bobby McDonald and Rob Kazenel, with a spoken word from priest and author William “Father Bill” Miller. Fayette County Tire Disposal Day
Fayette County will host a one day only tire disposal day. Drop off locations: April 29, 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., Fayette County Schulenburg Pct. 4 Yard, 1801 West US Hwy. 90, Schulenburg; April 30, 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., Fayette County Recycling Center, 210 Svoboda Lane, La Grange. Disposal fees: $5 for each car and passenger truck tires; $15 for each truck tire (18 wheeler type); and $30 for each tractor tire, maximum size of 17.5x.25.

Old High Hill Cemetery Decoration Day The Old High Hill Cemetery Association, Inc. annual business meeting will be held on Sunday, May 4 at St. Paul’s Hall, 712 Summit Street, in Schulenburg at 2 p.m. All members, family, and descendants of those buried in the cemetery are encouraged to attend and participate in the meeting.
