Classic Car Show

The Fayetteville Lions Club will host a classic car show on Saturday, April 19 on the Fayetteville town square. Show starts at 8 a.m. and judging ends at 1 p.m. 

Good Friday Service 

The Schulenburg Ministerial Alliance will be hosting a Community Good Friday Service at the historic Stephen’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Schulenburg, on April 18 at 12 noon. The church is located at the corner of College and Wolters. There will be a fellowship meal under the tents afterwards. Christians of all denominations and all seekers of truth are welcome to this annual gathering.

Garbage Schedule 

La Grange City offices will be closed Friday, April 18 in observance of Good Friday. Waste Management will be working their normal garbage and recycling schedule. If you need additional information, please call (979) 968-3127. 

Heroes Museum 

The Texas Heroes Museum will be closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 18-20 for the Easter weekend. Please remember to give thanks to those who serve to protect our freedoms. Many are overseas and not able to enjoy being with their families.

Curb Side Bulk Trash Pickup 

The City of La Grange has designated Saturday, April 19 as Residential Bulk Curbside Pick-Up Day for hard to dispose of bulky items. Waste Management will pick up one free load of bulky items on this day. All items should be within three feet of the curb by Friday evening. Trucks will be starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning to pick up items for La Grange Utility Customers within the city limits. Bulk items include: stoves, refrigerators and air conditioners which have been tagged and certified as being “freon-free” by a licensed technician, microwaves, water heaters, washing machines/dryers, barbecues, mattresses, chairs, recliners, couches and other furniture. Bulk items not accepted: tires, paint, chemicals, batteries, tile/toilets/bath tubs, mirrors/glass, cinder blocks/bricks/rocks, construction debris, televisions/computer monitors, motor oil or used filters. The city will also have roll off containers for residential utility customers for hard to dispose of items. These containers will be located at the City Service Center at 1040 E. Eblin St. inside the yard. Customers will have to show their utility bill. These containers will be available Monday-Thursday, April 21-24, from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. No tires, batteries, construction debris, paint or chemicals will be accepted. Only one set of mattresses per utility bill.

Easter Service & Egg Hunt

Celebrate with St. James’ Episcopal at the annual Easter service with music. The service will be followed by an Easter Egg Hunt and candy giveaway for the kids. This Sunday, April 20 at 10:30 a.m. St. James, just across from H-E-B. All are welcome.

2025 Aggie Muster

The Fayette CountyA&M Club invites you to join us forAggie Muster. The event will be held on Monday, April 21 at Ammannsville KJT Hall 7904 Mensik Rd, Ammannsville. A social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by program and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Muster speaker will be Dennis Mudd ‘85, former 12th man kickoff team member. Other activities will include a silent auction and games of chance. Proceeds go to funding multiple scholarships to Texas A&M University. Please consider sponsorship and/or donating an auction item. FWS Corporation Meeting

Fayette Water Supply Corporation will be conducting a monthly meeting of the Board of Directors on Monday, April 21 at 4:30 p.m. at the FWSC office located at 200 Bordovsky Rd. in La Grange. All members are encouraged to attend.

Faith Lutheran Church Fundraiser A chicken fried steak drive-thru dinner fundraiser for Faith Lutheran Church will be held at 615 South Eagle in Weimar on Wednesday, April 23 from 4:30-6 p.m. The meal will incude chicken fried steak, gravy, twice baked potatoes, green beans, broccoli salad, roll, and peach cobbler for $13 per plate. Tickets are available from church members or at the following businesses: Hair Stop, Hill Bank & Trust, Peak Brothers Construction, Tre-House Embroidery, Seybro Door and Weatherstrip, and Fayette Savings Bank.

La Grange Senior Citizen Game Day The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, April 24 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Public Library Annual Book Sale

Mark your calendars: join the Fayette Public Library for their Annual Book Sale. A $5 donation grants you early access on Thursday, April 24, from 4-6 p.m. Starting Friday, April 25, and running through Sunday, April 27, the book sale will be open to the public during the library’s regular hours. April is Poetry Month

April is National Poetry Month and The Round Top Family Library has announced the 6th Open Mic Poetry night at the Library for April 24 starting at 7 p.m. Poets of all ages are invited to read one of their poems. Time permitting a reading of a favorite poem will be accepted. The Round Top Family Library bookclub will sponsor a reception afterwards. Muldoon VF Department Fundraiser The Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department will have its annual fundraiser on Saturday, April 26 at the Muldoon Fire Station located at 333 N. 3rd St. in Muldoon. A meal will be served at 11:30 a.m. with a live auction to follow at 12:30 p.m. Additional events include a visit by Smokey Bear, silent auction, raffle drawing, face painting, popcorn, snow cones, and loads of fun. Hermann Sons Fundraiser

Decoration Day at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Decoration day at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery located on the Old Plum Highway west of La Grange will be observed on Sunday, April 27 at 2:30 p.m. with a brief memorial service. Bring a folding chair. Everyone is welcome.
