Christ in the Passover
On Maundy Thursday, April 17 at 6 p.m. New Life Methodist Church, 1215 N. Von Minden St., La Grange, will host “Christ in the Passover” a powerful, interactive experience that will illustrate the link between the Jewish Feast of Passover seder meal and the last supper Jesus shared with His disciples. Led by Sam Rood, a missionary from Jews for Jesus, we will taste the traditional symbolic foods as he weaves the story of the exodus of the Jewish people from Egypt and freedom from slavery together with the messianic hope realized in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Jewish or not, religious or not all are welcome for this unforgettable, thought-provoking experience. The event is free, however RSVP by noon, Wednesday, April 16 at www.newlifelg. org or call (979) 968-8323. There will be the opportunity to leave a love offering for Sam as well. Additionally, a Good Friday service will be held April 17 at 6 p.m. and two Easter services on April 20 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. all in the fellowship hall while the sanctuary undergoes renovations.
Sensitive Document Shred Event
The City of La Grange, the La Grange Police Department, and Citizens on Patrol invite La Grange Utilities customers to this free Spring Cleaning event on Saturday, April 19. Mobile on-site document shredding ensures discarded personal information is protected from unauthorized use, eliminating the opportunity for fraud and/or identity theft. Bring your sensitive documents related to taxes, payroll, human resources, medical records, legal matters, etc. to the LGPD at 243 S. College St. for destruction between 9 a.m. and noon. Items with staples, paperclips, and binder clips are accepted. Items not accepted are cardboard, floppy and hard disks, CDs, DVDs, and USB drives. Decoration Day
Decoration Day will be observed at the Rutersville Cemetery on Sunday, April 20. No services are planned.
Flower Show in Schulenburg
Schulenburg Garden Club will host “Days Gone By” A Standard Flower Show from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23 at Schulenburg Hall located at 405 South St. and Hwy. 77. The show is free and open to the public. Enjoy lunch, plant sale, country store, punch and cookies, and door prizes.
RT Hermann Sons Life
Due to the antique show there was not a Round Top Hermann Sons Life meeting in March. The next meeting will be Thursday, April 24.
Public Library Annual Book Sale
Mark your calendars! Join us at the Fayette Public Library for our Annual Book Sale. A $5 donation grants you early access on Thursday, April 24, from 4-6 p.m. Starting Friday, April 25, and running through Sunday, April 27, the book sale will be open to the public during the library’s regular hours.
