Drivers Needed
The La Grange VA Clinic is in need of several volunteer drivers to drive VA patients to the Austin clinic or Temple VA Hospital one day a week. They provide the van. Lenten Service
On Wednesday, March 26, Lenten Services will be held at Waldeck Lutheran Church. There will be a meal served at 6 p.m. with Worship at 7 p.m. The meal will be catered consisting of pulled pork sandwiches, twice baked potatoes, salad and drinks. If you would like to donate towards the meal or provide a dessert, please contact a council person.
Citizen Game Day
The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, March 27 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Game Day will be held every second and fourth Thursday of each month. For more information, contact Liz Tannler at (281) 543-1976.
There’s more How to have a garden full of the fluttering beauties is the topic for this month’s La Grange Garden Club. Master Gardeners, John and Lenore Williamson, will share tips and secrets of enticing butterflies to your garden on Thursday March 27 at the Randolf Recreation Center, 653 Pearl St. Social time begins at 11:30 a.m. and Speaker at 12 noon. Light refreshments will be served, your are invited to bring your lunch and visit with other local folks who share your love for the garden.
La Grange Noon Lions Club
The La Grange Noon Lions Club will hear from guest speaker Justice of the Peace Jamie Moreau on Thursday, March 27 at noon at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club. She will talk about body farms, evictions, truancy, and the joys of being a small town Judge.

Chess Tournament
The 3rdAnnual Habitat Gambit Chess Tournament benefiting Fayette County Habitat for Humanity will be on Saturday, March 29 at the Randolph Recreation Center located at 653 E. Pearl Street in La Grange. There will be three rounds (G15). BYO chess clock or phone with chess clock app. Primary division for ages 5-16 and senior division for ages 17 and up. This is a non-sanctioned event so no rating will be awarded. Entry fee is $10 which is payable at check-in from 9-9:15 a.m. on March 29. Pre-registration is recommended as space is limited. Free Arthritis and Pain Class
Think Organic Academy will offer a free class, Arthritis and Pain, at the Randolph Recreation Center in La Grange, Sunday, March 30, 2-4 p.m. The class will cover natural methods to control arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis, pain, acid indigestion, rheumatoid arthritis and more. The class is presented by David E. Will, who has taught continuing education classes on Natural Medicine for 35 years. David is not a doctor and has nothing to sell. This class is for educational and informational purposes only. Learn how others have changed their experience of arthritis and pain while becoming more pain free. American Legion Quade-Werchan Meeting Due to the Spring Antiques Show the next meeting of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary scheduled for April 3, will be rescheduled for April 10. The post and auxiliary meetings planned for May 1 will be held as scheduled. The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top.
Pagel Cemetery Cleanup Day

La Grange Senior Citizens to Meet The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center, Inc. spring meeting/luncheon will be held at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange on Thursday, April 3. Registration will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Cash door prizes will be awarded to ten lucky attendees who have registered by 10:30 a.m. The meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be John Bartos, who was recently elected President of the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center organization. A chicken fried steak lunch with all the trimmings will be served at 11:30 a.m. for $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Annual membership fees of $10 for the year will also be collected. Movie Night
The Miracle Temple C.O.G.I.C. located at 1008 E. Fannin St. in La Grange is having movie night Saturday, April 5 at 2 p.m. The movie is “The Force” and there is an entry fee. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
LHS Class of 1975 Reunion
La Grange High School Class of 1975 will have its 50 year class reunion on Saturday, May 3.
