Library Crafting

Do you love crafting and relaxing? Join the Fayette Public Library on Thursday, March 6, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and make your own Diamond Art Bookmark! Save your place in that favorite book with a fancy bookmark. The library will provide all materials. This is a registration-only event, and there are 12 spots available. American Legion

The next meeting of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary are scheduled for Thursday, March 6. The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top.

LG KC Fish Fry

The La Grange Knights of Columbus will host a drivethru only Fish Fry Fundraiser Friday, March 7 and March 14 from 4-6 p.m. at the La Grange K of C Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. The meal will consist of fried fish, hushpuppies, cole slaw, pinto beans and buttered potatoes for $15 per plate. The meal is on a first come, first served basis.

Dance Day

The La Grange Roadrunners (a Square Dance Club) will host the Texas Independance Day Dance at the Randolph Recreation Center on E. Pearl St. on March 8. Square Dancing is the State Folk Dance of Texas. The schedule includes early rounds from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Dance (2+2) will be from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. A donation entrance fee is $15 per dancer, $5 per teen. Non-dancers are free. Refreshments will be available. Cuers are Jerry and Lucy Pate and the Caller is Ken Burke.

There’s more Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

Hermann Sons Rutersville Meeting

Hermann Sons Rutersville will have their next meeting Tuesday, March 4 at 7 p.m. A meal of sausage, sauerkraut and sides will be served.

FCCT Open Auditions

Fayette County Community Theatre is hosting open auditions on Saturday, March 8 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 9 at 3 p.m. at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater on the grounds of the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange. Visit www.faycotheatre.com for more information.

Cancer Benefit For Janette Stanley

A cancer benefit for Janettee Stanley will be held on Saturday, March 8, at Popz Star Bar, located at in 982 E. Travis St. in La Grange. A pork steak meal to-go will be served from 11 a.m - 1 p.m. for $15. A 50/50 raffle and silent auction will also be held beginning at 5 p.m. with DJ Big Kountry from 7-11 p.m. All money raised will help Janette with medical bills and expenses. Holy Smokers Barbecue and Bake Sale 

The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club (Holy Smokers) will hold a barbecue and the Women will hold a bake sale Saturday, March 8, from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St. across from H-E-B in La Grange. A half chicken is $6 and sausage link is $7, drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of the Texas Ramp Project.

Bingo in Ledbetter

Bingo for Seniors 60 and older plus guests will be held at the Ledbetter Community Center on Sunday, March 9 from 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. $5 card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Chips/snacks and drinks will be available for free-will donation.

Shelby American Legion Turkey Stew 

Shelby American Legion Post 602 will host their annual original hand made Shelby turkey stew fundraiser on Saturday, March 15 at the Post Hall located at 4019 FM 1457 in Shelby. Sale begins at 2 p.m. Cost is $35 a gallon. Bring your own containers. Come early for a gallon or two of turkey stew and get some desserts too. Auxiliary Unit 602 will be holding a bake sale in conjunction.

Public Square Rosary Crusade

KJZT St. Anne’s Society No. 10, Fayetteville, is coordinating a Public Square Rosary Crusade in support of traditional marriage. Everyone is invited to join in praying the Rosary on the Fayetteville square, Saturday, March 15 at noon. KJZT Family Life is a Fraternal Benefit Society founded in 1894 by Czech catholic women. Now offering memberships to all Texans, the fraternal organization is committed to strengthening its members’ lives through Catholic faith and community service while offering financial security.

Artists and Artisans Wanted

Round Top has the largest design/antique show in the country. The Square Fair on the Courthouse Square is looking for upscale artists and artisans to show/sell their creative art on the square during the Spring Antiques show March 22-30. You must show in a white tent and spaces will be sold in multiples of 10x10 spacing. A safe, secure spot for you to show your art and security will be provided for $525 for the entire nine day show. Colorado Valley Chapter CCA Banquet 

The 24th Annual Colorado Valley Chapter CCA Texas banquet will be held on Thursday, March 27 at the K of C Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. Come join for a night of steak/shrimp dinner, drinks, auctions, and good old fundraising fun. Vietnam Veterans Meeting

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 will meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Ammannsville KJT Hall located in Ammannsville. Food and refreshments will be available after the meeting. Members and prospective members are encouraged to attend.

Marine Corps League Meeting
