The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, March 1 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange (255 Svoboda Ln). A free Smoker Lighting Workshop will begin at 4 p.m. followed by a Beekeeping 101 presentation from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A perfect introduction for those new to beekeeping. A potluck dinner will follow, so bring your favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. After dinner, the business meeting will feature guest speaker Sheri Wilcox, Texas Master Naturalist, discussing pollinators. This is a great chance for beginners to connect with experienced beekeepers for mentorship and advice. Annual membership is $25 per individual or family, but membership is not required to attend. FaycoBeeks meets the first Saturday of every month, and more information can be found at faycobeeks.org. Everyone is welcome.

Fayetteville CDA No. 1440 will have their annual fundraiser on Sunday, March 2 at the Parish Hall. Pork barbecue and sausage meal tickets can be purchased in advance at the church office or the Fayetteville Bank. Raffle tickets for a hand quilted quilt can be purchased at the bank and church also. A bake sale will also be available.

There’s more The final day for the Round Top Area Historical Society garage sale is this Saturday, March 1 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. only at 397 E. Mill St. behind the Round Top Post Office. Sealy Dance Club

The Sealy Lions Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, March 1 at the Sealy American Legion Hall. The band Liberty Hill will be providing live music from 7:30-11 p.m. The public is always welcome.

St. John’s Barbecue Pork and Sausage

The annual St. John’s fundraiser will be held at St. John’s Recreation Center in Fayetteville on Sunday, March 2 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. A barbecue pork and sausage meal with all the trimmings will be served. Plates to go will be $15 per plate (only 300 tickets will be sold). Advance tickets only may be purchased from: St. John’s Church Office in Fayetteville, Fayetteville Bank, Donna Shula at (713) 818-1470, or Jeanne Schilling at (979) 9667358. The meal will be prepared by the CDA and KCs.

Tannich-Brovec 59th Reunion

The Tannich-Brovec 59th family reunion will be held Sunday, March 2, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall off FM 155 at 1020 N. Center St. in Weimar. Other family names include: Nohavitza, Ulbrich, Voitle, Sebesta, Mueck, Urban, Anhaiser, Sekerka, Fojtik, Holloway, Kunschick, Koch, Klimple, Perkins, Shimek, York, Socha, Kubesch, and Peterson Bring your covered dish: meat, vegetable, salad and/or dessert. Please remember your serving spoon. Tea, coffee and bread will be provided. There will be lunch, business meeting, live auction, door prizes and bingo. Community League Baseball

A meeting to discuss the 2025 Community League Baseball Season will be held on Sunday, March 2 at 6 p.m. at the ballfield at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange. If you are interested in participating or have general questions, feel free to call or text Roland Zoch (979) 966-9397.

Texas Independence Day Holiday City of La Grange offices will be closed Monday, March 3 for Texas Independence Day. Waste Management will be working their normal garbage and recycle schedule. Fayette Public Library Crafting

Do you love crafting and relaxing? Join the Fayette Public Library on Thursday, March 6, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and make your own Diamond Art Bookmark! Save your place in that favorite book with a fancy bookmark. The library will provide all materials. This is a registration-only event, and there are 12 spots available. American Legion Quade-Werchan The next meeting of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary are scheduled for Thursday, March 6. The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top.

La Grange KC Fish Fry

The La Grange Knights of Columbus will host a drive-thru only Fish Fry Fundraiser Friday, March 7 and March 14 from 4-6 p.m. at the La Grange K of C Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. The meal will consist of fried fish, hushpuppies, cole slaw, pinto beans and buttered potatoes for $15 per plate. The meal is on a first come, first served basis.

Texas Tea and Texas Swing

Guests all over Texas are invited to attend a Texas Tea Party at Historic N. W. Faison House at 2 p.m. March 8. All guests will also be escorted to downtown shopping at the Farmer’s Market, boutiques and cafes around the square before tea, and special presentations at Texas Quilt Museum, Le Petite Gourmet Shoppe, Mac’s Daqs after tea.Then off to Best Little Cowboy Gathering that evening for some swing and fiddle music and dancing, of course. Wall Shakers Prayer Workshop On Saturday, March 8, New Life Methodist Church, located at 1215 N. Von Minden in La Grange, invites you to a free “Wall Shakers” (based on Acts 4:31) Prayer Workshop from 9:30 a.m. (check in) to 3:30 p.m. led by Pastor Lauren Green Yates. At 10 a.m. Pastor Lauren will present training for individuals and church groups to enhance their prayer lives and the effectiveness of their prayer time through transformational, intentional and intercessory (TII) prayers. After a free light lunch, there will be guided breakout sessions to discuss aspects of her presentation regarding TII prayers, armor prayers, canopy prayers, community prayers and revolutionary prayers.
