Faith Lutheran High School of Central Texas, located at 600 FM 1482 in Warda, is hosting their sixth annual Texas Lutheran Writers Round Up on Jan. 31, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Lunch is provided, and the public is welcome to attend this free event.
Adult Tech Training
Come join the Fayette Public Library in La Grange for Adult Technology Training on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. - noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. Movie ‘For The Record’ in Flatonia
The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas invites the public to a free screening of the 2024 film “For the Record” on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m., at the Lyric Theater in Flatonia, 120 E. South Main St. The 35-minute documentary about the closing of a small-town paper in the Texas Panhandle will be followed by a panel discussion featuring local newspaper editors and publishers on sustaining a local, independent press in challenging times. All are welcome and encouraged to attend: no registration required, no admission charged.
New Life Methodist Church
New Life Methodist Church in La Grange is having a 10 a.m. combined worship service this Sunday, Feb. 2 to celebrate the 31 years that the church sanctuary has been a blessing and served the church so well.
Fayette County Czech Heritage Society
Fayette County Czech Heritage Society will hold its annual Soup Social on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. at TCHCC in La Grange. Members are asked to bring a big pot of their favorite soup or a snack/dessert to share. New potential members and/or guests are invited to attend and being of Czech descent is not a requirement.

The Muldoon Museum activities will be discussed for the first meeting of the new year on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. in the museum building.
Rotary Club Pancake Supper The Rotary Club pancake supper is Thursday, Feb. 6 at La Grange Elementary Cafeteria. Dine in at school 5-7 p.m. or drive thru 5-6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and the drive thru entrance is at the corner of Travis and Jackson.

Casino Arts Association Dinner & A Movie The Casino Arts Association is hosting Dinner & A Movie on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Historic Casino Hall. “The Villain,” a western comedy, starring Kirk Douglas, Ann-Margaret and Arnold Schwarzenegger will be the movie shown. The tickets are $20 per person which includes cost of the movie and a delicious meal of King Ranch casserole, salad, chips, and dessert. The Patchwork Quilt
Fayette County Community Theatre and the Texas Quilt Museum invite you to a special Reader’s Theater production of The Patchwork Quilt by Rachel Field, Saturday, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. Patrons are invited to enjoy wine in the garden and an opportunity to browse the quilts displayed in the museum prior to the production. Grief Support Groups Begin in February The Grief Support Groups at Hospice Brazos Valley will resume in February. Alzheimer’s/Dementia support group will be held monthly on the second Tuesday of every month at 10-11 a.m. at the Hospice Brazos Valley office, 1048 N Jefferson, La Grange. Loss of a Spouse support group will be held monthly on the third Tuesday of every month at 10-11:30 a.m. at the Hospice Brazos Valley office. Loss of a Child support group will be held monthly on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 10-11:30 a.m. at the Hospice Brazos Valley office.
