Farm Bureau
The Swiss Alp, Ammannsville, Dubina Farm Bureau Local will have a social potluck on Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Swiss Alp Farm Bureau Hall on Hwy. 77. Drake Rangel, the new Fayette County biologist, will be the guest speaker followed by a short business meeting. All are welcome to join for a fun evening.
Republican Women
The public is invited to attend the Fayette County Republican Women General Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club, 575 Country Club Drive in La Grange. Lunch is available for $20. Guest speaker will be Senator Lois Kolkhorst. The Senator led an aggressive campaign for Texas and the people she represents in the 2023 legislative session. Pumpkin Patch
Join MomCo of Fayette County on Friday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. for face painting, paint a pumpkin, train rides, bounce house and food music and drinks. General admission is $5 and admission with activity band is $10. 10% of proceeds will benefit MomCo of Fayette County. Activities will take place at 1067 Hwy. 71 W. in Bastrop.

Genealogy Workshop at Library
The Fayette Heritage Museum and Archives is offering a free workshop that includes eight streamed genealogy programs on Friday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. You may attend one or all of the sessions which will take place in the meeting room of the Fayette Public Library located at 855 S. Mobile Food Truck
The Central Texas Food Pantry mobile food truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church on Oct. 19. It is a drive-thru distribution from 10-11 a.m. Volunteers are also needed.
Dana Srubar Fundraiser
A fundraiser for Dana Srubar will be held Saturday, Oct. 19 at Shorty’s Bar in Winchester. Dana is battling Metastatic Carcinoma. RVOS Rek Hill Lodge Meeting
The RVOS Rek Hill Lodge No. 94 will meet on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 3:30 p.m. at Richard Kovar’s residence.
Harvest Festival
Martin Luther Lutheran Church Harvest Festival will be held on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Carmine Hall. Worship service begins at 9:30 a.m. Confirmation classes ending in the years 4 and 9 will be recognized. Krause Duo will lead the worship music.A meal of pork ribeye and sausage, potatoes, and green beans will be served from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Meal tickets are $15. A drawing will be held and those tickets are one for $20 or three for $50. Tickets may be purchased at the church office and Carmine State Bank. Desserts will be available for a donation. Fayette Water Supply Board Meeting
Fayette Water Supply Corporation will be conducting a monthly meeting of the Board of Directors on Monday, Oct. 21 at 4:30 p.m. at the FWSC office located at 200 Bordovsky Road in La Grange. All members are encouraged to attend.
Hermann Sons Life Meeting
The Ellinger Hermann Sons Life will be meeting on Monday, Oct. 21 at the Ellinger Fire Station at 6 p.m. Winedale Zoom Talk On Tuesday, Oct. 22 at noon, via zoom, author and historian Mitchel Roth will speak about the Texas Prison Rodeo, which ran from 1931 to 1986. Over the years the rodeo not only boasted death-defying entertainment but also featured a virtual who’s who of American pop culture, with movie stars from Tom Mix to John Wayne and music legends such as Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Fayetteville Harvest Carnival
The Fayetteville PTC will be holding their Harvest Carnival on Friday, Oct. 25 from 4:30-8 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church Hall/Pavilion located at 205 Bell Street in Fayetteville. There will be games, a cake walk, haunted house, costume contest and raffle. Raffle tickets are being sold by FISD students. They are $10 for one ticket. Beef stew, chili, hotdogs nachos, Frito pie and drinks will be available. You will be able to dine in the hall, under the pavilion or take food to go.
