Senior Game Day

The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. For the Record on Page A2 & A5 The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. If you’re interested in beekeeping, a “Beekeeping 101 Getting Started with Bees” session will take place from 4:305:30 p.m. Following the session, we’ll enjoy a potluck dinner, so feel free to bring your favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. After dinner, a business meeting will be held, followed by a guest presentation on Honey Bee Robbing by Lynn Jones of Brazos River Honey. This meeting is an excellent opportunity for new beekeepers to connect with experienced members who are happy to serve as mentors and provide guidance. Membership dues for 2024 are $25 annually, covering both individuals and families. While membership is not required to attend, FaycoBeeks warmly welcomes all participants and encourages beekeepers and their families to join. Meetings take place on the first Saturday of each month. American Legion Post No. 10, Auxiliary TheAmerican Legion Post No. 102 and theAmerican Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange. The Auxiliary District President Irene Szwarc will be in attendance. Members are encouraged to attend the meetings of both the Post and the Unit to discuss their routine business matters. Fall Cleanup Days

The City of La Grange has designated Oct. 10-17 as Fall Cleanup Days. The city will pick up one free load of brush during these days. One load of brush is defined as not more than one pickup truck load. If you have logs, please separate them from the branches. Also, please make sure there is no trash, no piles of leaves, no lumber, or construction debris mixed in with the brush. The following schedule will be observed: Oct. 10 and 11
