Pet Blessing

Join the Fayette Public Library in La Grange for Adult Technology Training on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. If your computer is giving you problems, bring it along. Six seats are available. Registration is required. Call (979) 968-3765 to sign up.

The Rev. Sharon Turner can bless your pet (of any persuasion) on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of St. James in La Grange across from the H-EB. Senior Game Day

The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. For the Record on Page A2 & A5 The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. If you’re interested in beekeeping, a “Beekeeping 101 Getting Started with Bees” session will take place from 4:305:30 p.m. Following the session, we’ll enjoy a potluck dinner, so feel free to bring your favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. After dinner, a business meeting will be held, followed by a guest presentation on Honey Bee Robbing by Lynn Jones of Brazos River Honey. This meeting is an excellent opportunity for new beekeepers to connect with experienced members who are happy to serve as mentors and provide guidance. Membership dues for 2024 are $25 annually, covering both individuals and families. While membership is not required to attend, FaycoBeeks warmly welcomes all participants and encourages beekeepers and their families to join. Meetings take place on the first Saturday of each month. Lions Sealy Dance Club

The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Sealy American Legion Hall. The band, Mike Gest And Night Session, will be providing live music from 7:30 p.m. - 11 p.m. The public is always welcome.

Methodist Men at Antique Show

The Methodist Men of New Life Methodist Church, La Grange, will once again be serving their great barbecue plates, sandwiches, wraps, salads, baked potatoes, and peach cobbler at the Blue Hills Antique Show in Round Top Oct. 5-19 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

American Legion Post No. 10, Auxiliary TheAmerican Legion Post No. 102 and theAmerican Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange. The Auxiliary District President Irene Szwarc will be in attendance. Members are encouraged to attend the meetings of both the Post and the Unit to discuss their routine business matters. The Auxiliary 2025 Membership Dues may be paid at this meeting. New potential members are invited to attend. A meal will be served prior to the business meeting.

Sages and Saints Bingo

New Life Methodist Church will host Sages & Saints Bingo on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall located at 1215 N. Von Minden in La Grange. Bring your favorite dish or dessert for potluck.

Fall Cleanup Days

The City of La Grange has designated Oct. 10-17 as Fall Cleanup Days. The city will pick up one free load of brush during these days. One load of brush is defined as not more than one pickup truck load. If you have logs, please separate them from the branches. Also, please make sure there is no trash, no piles of leaves, no lumber, or construction debris mixed in with the brush. The following schedule will be observed: Oct. 10 and 11
