Shred Day
Colorado Valley Communications and Fayette Electric Cooperative will host their seventh annual document shred day for members on Friday, Oct. 4 in conjunction with National Cooperative Month. The free document shredding will be available from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at Fayette Electric Cooperative’s old headquarters location at 357 N. Washington St. in La Grange, and from 12:152:15 p.m. at Colorado Valley Communications located at 4915 South US Hwy. 77, La Grange. Adult Tech Training
Join the Fayette Public Library in La Grange for Adult Technology Training on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. There’s more The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. If you’re interested in beekeeping, a “Beekeeping 101 Getting Started with Bees” session will take place from 4:305:30 p.m. Following the session, we’ll enjoy a potluck dinner, so feel free to bring your favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. After dinner, a business meeting will be held, followed by a guest presentation on Honey Bee Robbing by Lynn Jones of Brazos River Honey. This meeting is an excellent opportunity for new beekeepers to connect with experienced members who are happy to serve as mentors and provide guidance. Membership dues for 2024 are $25 annually, covering both individuals and families. While membership is not required to attend, FaycoBeeks warmly welcomes all participants and encourages beekeepers and their families to join. Meetings take place on the first Saturday of each month. LHS Class of 2025 Dinner
A drive-thru chicken fried chicken meal with twice baked potatoes, green beans, corn, roll and banana pudding will be held Friday, Oct. 11 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the La Grange High School cafeteria. The meal is $14 per plate. Fatima Rosary Rally
The Hostyn Catholic Daughters will sponsor a Fatima Rosary Rally on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the gazebo in La Grange at 12 noon. All are invited to pray the rosary for world peace, unborn babies and for rain.
